The EU is coming after in-game purchases. Games like Minecraft, Call of Duty Mobile, Valorant, Candy Crush, Clash of Clans and For Honor are being scrutinized over virtual currencies, loot boxes, misleading timers, forced currency bundles and spending pressure. The EU also says players should be informed about their 14-day right to withdraw from purchases where applicable, including unused virtual currency. Regulators also want games to show real-money prices clearly, protect children, improve parental controls and explain purchases before players pay. Activision Blizzard is separately being investigated over Diablo Immortal and Call of Duty Mobile.
