Wear your hunter orange anytime you’re in the woods. 🚫 Stay sober. Don’t use alcohol or drugs while hunting. 🔒 Keep firearms stored and unloaded until safe for use. 🫎 Know your target and what’s beyond it. 📍 Let someone know your plans and location (and always be prepared with warm clothes, food and water and emergency supplies). Whether you’re towing a boat, camper or your quad, getting to your destination safely starts before you pull out of the driveway. Improperly secured loads, unsafe trailers and equipment that isn’t ready for the road are all serious risks that can be avoided. Before you go, make sure your trailer is properly connected, safety chains are attached and all lights and signals are working. Take time to check your tires, hitch and load. Don’t forget about what’s in back – whether it’s in your trailer or in the bed of your truck. Gear, coolers, lumber, bikes or any other cargo must be properly secured to prevent for your safety and the safety of everyone else on our roads. A few extra minutes spend checking what you’re taking with you can help prevent serious issues and penalties. If it can move, strap it down. If you’re towing it, triple-check it. #SafetySaturday
