You’re 200 yards out on a par 5, with a good lie and a clear shot toward the green. Reaching it would require a near-perfect strike. A: Go for it with your fairway wood B: Hit hybrid and aim for the front of the green C: Lay up to your favorite wedge distance D: Play to the widest landing area and leave a comfortable third shot Are you going for it in two?

I too. People too often forget that this is entertainment, that this is fiction.
So many unrealistic things happened in this movie but it was fun to watch, so intense. One of the movies I still watch over and over again and never get bored

Great list today, Jon!
Today’s list of golf things I am thankful and grateful for: 1) My new prescription sunglasses. I didn’t realize how poor my eyesight had become, and how it was negatively impacting my game. 2) Having started working out 6 years ago at the prompting of good friends. More than anything I have done, this has had the biggest positive impact on my golf game…and life. 3) Knowing I can play multiple days in a row without a problem if I want to and have the time. I can physically still walk 18-holes at least 3 days in a row. I’m confident I could do 4 and possibly 5 but haven’t had the opportunity to try yet. #2 on today’s list is the reason I can do this at 61. That’s the list for today. Make sure you have fun if you’re playing today.

Just one of the reasons why I don’t watch anymore.
I don’t understand why it’s acceptable or just ignored. It’s becoming a sport where one of the foundational rules is seemingly optional.

Hauoli Lahanau from Hawaii! Family is everything!
It's the Carnoustie Caddie's birthday on Monday. That's a work day, so today my good lady and I are out for a few cocktails. We're doing a big family celebration on Sunday at the 19th Hole in Carnoustie. I'm really looking forward to Sunday. It's a rare occasion. I'll have all my family together for the first time in a year or two. 16 of us. All my kids, myself, my sisters, their kids and my parents. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing my oldest. He's in his second year at Aberdeen University, and I miss him greatly. Family and friends are everything. It's why I encourage you all to make the trip to Scotland with your family or friends. Come and make some memories together.

Met Costas at the airport on a flight back to the mainland. Was gracious to listen to me rehashing his time at #HawaiiMVB! Congratulations to him on the recognition!
Caught up with #HawaiiMVB legend Costas Theocharidis ahead of his induction into the UH Circle of Honor about making his way to Hawai‘i from Greece, being the subject of an NCAA investigation, how he hopes history will remember the 2002 team and more: alohastatedaily.com/2026/10/…

Why…injury? C’mon!
Last Saturday, Liam Szarka ran for two touchdowns and the Air Force Falcons beat Navy. When it was over, he said they were going to put it to Army. Two days later he was ruled out for the rest of the season. Here is who he is. He is from Aurora, Colorado, and he graduated from Grandview High School in 2024. He was a lacrosse standout. He qualified for the state track meet in four different events. He is the best golfer on the Air Force football team. Last offseason he sat down with his parents and made a list of pros and cons about leaving. Quarterbacks like him leave every year now. That is just what happens. He stayed. Here is what he said about it. "I knew I wanted to be here, and I didn't focus on any of the noise that was coming my way." Now here is what staying actually costs. At the Air Force Academy, walking into your first class as a junior is the moment it becomes binding. You graduate, and then you serve. Szarka wants to fly fighters, and that commitment runs a decade or more. "I'm where I'm meant to be." He is a quarterback who leads the entire Mountain West in rushing yards per game, at 97.8, and in scoring, at 10.5 points a game. He ran for 391 yards in four games. That is more than double the next man on his own team. He is second in the history of the Air Force Academy in completion percentage and third in passing efficiency. Then last Saturday. Air Force had lost five straight games to service academies. Not one player on the roster had ever beaten one. The seniors were freshmen the last time it happened. Air Force won 14 to 9. Szarka ran for both touchdowns. Here is linebacker Blake Fletcher afterward. "Man, this is one of the best feelings." Here is tailback Rocco Conti. "That was just an incredible feeling. Finally got that done." And here is head coach Troy Calhoun. "This was as gutty and hard as it gets." Then Szarka said the thing about Army. On Monday the Academy announced he was done for the year. Beating Navy was the first leg of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, which goes to whichever academy beats the other two. Air Force has one of them. The other one is at Army on November 7. He is a junior, and Calhoun says he will be back in 2027, so this is not the end of him. His passing numbers this season were one touchdown against four interceptions. He was not a finished product. But tonight the Falcons play at the Northern Illinois Huskies, and a sophomore named Evan Medders makes the first start of his life. Here is offensive tackle Luke Vonderhaar on that. "It's Air Force football with or without Liam, unfortunately." So here is where it sits. He said they were going to put it to Army. That game is November 7, and he is not going to be in it. He signed up for the ten years anyway.

Hey, don’t know what the issues is with those that wants to bring other down! Hang in there sir! Aloha! G
I want to say something about Americans. Nine out of ten people I take round Carnoustie are American. That is not a statistic I read somewhere, it is who is standing on my first tee, season after season. You have fed my children and put a roof over my head. My gran was born just south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So there's always been a wee bit of America in my family. And after spending nearly 30 years walking the fairways with Americans, I suppose there's a fair bit of it in me too. Nearly everybody who has backed what I am building has been American too. They buy the books. They email in and ask for me on the bag. They share my posts with people who have never heard of me. And not one of them has ever made me feel like I was getting above myself. That is the bit. The Canadians are the same. The English. The Australians. And there are Scots, my own folk, who know exactly what I am talking about here and have been right behind me. And politics does not come into it for me. Either side of the aisle, you have all been here, you love this country and you love the golf. That is all I have ever needed to know about a man. In Scotland there is a thing we do. Somebody puts their head up and tries to build something, and the instinct is to take the legs from them. Who does he think he is. A caddie writing books. Aye, right. And I keep taking a knife in the back. It is a strange place to live. Today I had a full on attack on me and on my friends. The biggest example of it I have seen yet. I am a big boy. I will never give in to it. I love this country. The course I walk is the greatest piece of ground in golf and it made me what I am. But it is hard here. You spend half your energy on the work and the other half apologising for having a go. It kills me to say it. I think I would thrive in America. Here it is a struggle to breathe. I am not after sympathy and I am not going anywhere. I will be on the first tee next season the same as every season since 1998. One day I will tell you the story of my grandfather, and then you will understand why I will never give up. But to every one of you who has bought a book, asked for me by name, or told somebody I exist: you have no idea what that does for a man who is used to being told to sit down. I find you the best people on earth. America, Canada, thank God you exist.

Weight of the barbell itself is 45#’s. So not mathematically correct, lifters would know
What on earth does this mean?

Bu Luna. İlk kez anne oldu ve zorlu doğumun ardından tamamen bitkin düştü. Yavrularını huzur içinde emzirirken derin bir uykuya daldı. Ona bir kalp bırakır mısınız? ❤️

Great post! Love this type of content!
"Of all the thousands of rounds I've played in my life, this was my favourite." That's what Ric Foley told me today. Ric is 74. Canadian, a club pro who played tour events, and a friend of Moe Norman. And he was there for all of it. Florida. A baseball field. Moe paced off a 5 iron, threw a blanket down and hit 300 balls. 200 of them were on or around the blanket. Ontario. Someone asked Moe how accurate he was. He told them to pick a branch on a tree. He hit the branch. Then he walked off the course. He was leading by 6. Someone else asked him if his loose watch was a problem. Moe got angry. "What's a watch got to do with a golf swing?" And he walked off the course. They travelled a lot together. Because they weren't from the USA they had to wait on the checks clearing, and Moe would be the one to cash the check for the guys. At the quarterly players meetings Ric always brought the Coke for Moe. His favourite player to play with was Lee Trevino. Ric has lived in Tampa since 1990. He's only played 6 rounds this year and maybe 3 or 4 in the few years before that. He had a new knee about 12 weeks ago. He's in Scotland because his daughter is getting married just south of Edinburgh. And his best friend growing up was a kid who was born in Carnoustie. His house was a council house that overlooked the 18th. So I pointed it out to him. It was a perfect day out there. We're having an Indian summer, as they call it. Ric played with a full set of Tommy Armour irons. Hit the 3 iron like a dream. You could tell by his swing he was a baller back in the day. Even here he was hitting 8 and 9 irons out of the bunkers. That's a tell, because 99% of the people who try to hit any more than a wedge out of the bunkers here leave it in. Highlights of the day were a birdie on 10 and a par on 17. Driver, driver, wedge, 1 putt. He was just so happy and grateful to finally be here. These are the days I love the most. The job can be so rewarding. Carnoustie is a special course, and these are the days I miss the most in the winters. #Carnoustie #blessed

Have had some folks lately (all good, nice people) that were wired to ignore the good in search of the great. Hit the green from 200 yards: "I hit it a little thin." Hit the fairway on a drive: "A little spinny." A chip from off the green gets within a tap in: "Should've used my 56 instead of my 60." Look, I understand the quest for the perfect golf shot. Not knocking it. And I also realize that a lot of this behavior probably contributes greatly to the success that affords these people the opportunity to plays such a special and expensive course. But... There is some joy and contentment that is lost in all of it. Life isn't lived at the mountain top. It's a journey with a lot of different peaks and valleys. And along the way, there are countless blessings on the journey. Even in the imperfect stuff. Seek to be great today. But don't miss out on gratitude and joy for all the good. Happy Tuesday, Friends. Rooting for you!

Agree with you once more Nolan!
Coach Timmy Chang has a great heart!! All the players love him as a coach and a father figure that huge. Keep in mind so many of the players on the team could transfer to a bigger better school but not about win or loses sometimes about the bond the brothers the culture/family

Don’t care what other say our team Hawaii team win or lose always there to support. Yes it is hard this season bc last season was great. Micah is our QB. O-Line needs to be more stronger/no more false start penalties/play smart not hard/defense need to create turn overs/🙏🙏🙏
