It’s a railway, Jim, but not as we know it. Just travelled the length of Wuppertal’s famous Schwebebahn, opened in 1901. What a wonderful piece of urban transport.

This is a 1920’s NYC subway car, complete with ceiling fans and original ads from the era. It can still be seen at the NY Transit Museum, a museum in Brooklyn with an entrance disguised as a subway station and everything from collections of subway tokens to old turnstiles.
