Every year when I get home from our annual meeting I have a unique mix of relief that everything (pretty much) went as planned.
Thankfulness for the effort @ccdetroitGCS & the education committee put into this event starting last October.
Pride in being able to present all of the amazing things our board & committees are doing.
Exhaustion from not enough sleep in a hotel bed.
Excitement for the new members of our board @BelvedereGC1925 & @Dpaxton18.
Optimism for our new president @GeneDavis31.
Melancholy because the event is over and we said goodbye to two great board members in Doug Hoeh & Kevin Risch and our immediate past president @GLCCTurf only has one year left after 8 great ones.
But mainly I am grateful for our amazing 800+ members, our industry partners who make this all possible and the lifelong friendships with so many incredible people I get to see every year for 24 awesome hours.
Already looking forward to 2026 in Grand Rapids, but looking even more forward to sleeping soon in my own bed.
What a fantastic 24 hours it was. Thank you @1sethbritton for hosting us at @GTResort. To our fantastic speakers and the industry partners who make it all possible. Grand Rapids, you are on the clock. February 2026 ⏳

This is a friendly reminder that we're now past our climatological warmest part of the year and normal temperatures have begun their downward trend. It's all downhill from here and soon the snowflakes will be flying again. 🙂 #miwx

Who would have bet a month ago that the #MemorialDay holiday would be hotter here than Florida? Record heat in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids today, btw. Relief doesn't arrive until Wednesday. #sweating

This was one of the greatest winter rainfall events on record in Southern Michigan (rivaling Feb 1997). Forecast river flooding may require actions to mitigate property loss. Every river point has a different history/vulnerability/forecast. weather.gov/grr/news20180220 #wmiwx #miwx

Great, to the point piece by the @USGA & @AdamMoeller about opening courses during the winter with variable temps. Especially true for us this coming week in Detroit. xitter.cf/adammoeller/status/955…
A good share for golfers wondering why the course is still closed despite the warm air temperatures usga.org/course-care/our-exp…

I have not seen snow melt so fast over night! We had 6 1/2”yesterday on all Greens and came in this morning to see all but a couple of Greens perfectly clean with no standing water! The others dried out with the help of the wind and a little bit of squeegeeing!
