Firm fescue surrounds running down into bunkers of every imaginable shape and size. The variety and white sand gives Hayling an individual aesthetic that works brilliantly.
Things you love to see in Autumn. Fescue popping 9 days after seeding during last week’s Autumn Renovations and scrub clearance to show off the courses hidden contours.
Penultimate evening shift at the #USAmateur fuelled by Tomahawk steaks and a visit from the Havemeyer Trophy. The Quarry looks incredible as the sun goes down.

We focused some time and energy into our facility and whilst clearing found a great spot, to have break outdoors. A BBQ, Benches and Parasols to really make it a nice place for everyone to sit, bonus addition of a solar ‘reel’ water fountain for added tranquility 😂
With this heatwave stopping and slowing a lot of mowing, we can redirect attention to some more of our detail work. Another old post and rail removed and replaced with sleepers and hemp mariner rope.
Dusted off the welding gear to fab a bracket for the tool clamps for our data collection gear and strimmers.
Taking a moment to enjoy the colour and definition we have on the course before it’s smoked by the end of the week! Not a typical look for us in June but love it!
Over the moon to see the course take a big jump in the rankings for the second year in a row. Really proud of what the team have produced, with the journey to raise the standards at Hayling with everything we do.
We're thrilled to be ranked the 44th best course in England by @top100golf, climbing 11 places in the process!
It's the biggest rise of any club in the Top 50, a testament to Graeme and his team's hard work on the course and the office's dedication off it to elevate our links.
Beauty of an evening on the links. Making the most of a still night to get out a wetter mix on Greens & Apps. This spring is feeling far to reminiscent of last years for my liking!
Last projects completed this week. After 8 years of unsightly portaloos, the new toilets have been installed and styled to match the characteristics of the links.
Behind the range tee the worn shabby turf has been replaced with sleeper walls, meandering paths and fescue mounds

The final part of the work on the 8th (Crater) as we create a sandscrape within the dunes that separates the fairway and greens complex. Some of my favourite time is spent in the excavator and it’s been like that since I first used one as a kid.
2 of 3 changes to the 8th hole complete in time for Christmas. Removing the fairway pot bunker in exchange for a naturalised bunkers. The granite path between the fairway and approach has been stripped & replaced with a more rustic sleeper path meandering through the dunes

Our first visit to @Haylinggolfclub this week and it blew our socks off.
Remarkably firm surfaces thanks to the shingle beach below, endlessly engaging Tom Simpson holes, and immaculate presentation from @GJRobertsTurf and his team.
One thought was echoed throughout the round - big Rye vibes in the dunescape, routing, the winter conditioning and the odd pillbox.
Definitely won’t wait long before returning.
A first at Hayling as we installed @EcoBunkerLtd to replace our practice bunker. Ideal alternative for its location and frequency of use. Finishing touches around it next week. Finished up the week adding a bout marker setup to our Vicon for its first outing next week.
