My special thanks to the CEO David Gold for his passion, leadership and partnership over many years, to advocate for access to health care for everyone, everywhere.

Researchers in Nigeria have developed a creative way to educate children about schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease that impacts millions of children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Although effective treatment and prevention tactics are available, transmission awareness and misinformation pose a challenge to uptake. Enter “Schisto & Ladders”, a board game developed by researchers from Akwa Ibom State University. The game teaches children about ways to prevent schistosomiasis, combats misinformation, and helps improve community uptake of the safe medicines used to treat it.

उत्तर प्रदेश में टीकाकरण को और प्रभावी बनाने तथा समाज में वैक्सीन कॉन्फिडेंस को सुदृढ़ करने के उद्देश्य से राज्य स्तरीय तकनीकी परामर्श बैठक का आयोजन राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन उ0प्र0 के एसपीएमयू कार्यालय में बुधवार को किया गया।
बैठक में राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन, उत्तर प्रदेश की मिशन निदेशक एवं सचिव, चिकित्सा स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग डॉ. पिंकी जोवल (आईएएस) ने कहा कि "उपचार के साथ ही बीमारियों से बचाव पर भी समान रूप से ध्यान देना आवश्यक है।" उन्होंने NFHS-6 के अनुसार प्रदेश में पूर्ण टीकाकरण कवरेज 81.4% तक पहुंचने को महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि बताते हुए शत-प्रतिशत टीकाकरण का लक्ष्य हासिल करने का आह्वान किया।
इस अवसर पर आरएमएलआईएमएस के निदेशक डॉ. सी.एम. सिंह, महाप्रबंधक (नियमित टीकाकरण) डॉ. मनोज शुक्ल एवं आरएमएलआईएमएस के चिकित्सा अधीक्षक प्रो. डॉ. अरविंद कुमार सिंह सहित विभिन्न मेडिकल कॉलेजों, एम्स रायबरेली, केजीएमयू, एएमयू, आईसीएमआर-आरएमआरसी गोरखपुर, तथा WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, Gates Foundation, JSI, C-FAR, UPTSU और Global Health Strategies के प्रतिनिधियों ने सहभागिता की।
बैठक में वैक्सीन कॉन्फिडेंस चैंपियंस नेटवर्क विकसित करने, गलत सूचनाओं का प्रभावी संवाद के माध्यम से निराकरण करने तथा प्रत्येक पात्र बच्चे तक टीकाकरण सेवाएं सुनिश्चित करने का संकल्प लिया।

Ghana is reaching 8 million people with medicines to help control three #NTDs.
Through MDA, communities are receiving preventive treatment for river blindness, lymphatic filariasis, and schistosomiasis — part of the sustained effort needed to achieve elimination.
