Liquid hydrogen requires approximately −253°C, making liquefaction energy and boil-off management critical to affordability. •𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀’ 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: @Cummins India work spans hydrogen internal combustion engines (ICE) and fuel cells. Its purpose-built combustion approach uses direct injection to address safety and match diesel-truck power density. Development across four regions and the recent supply of six engines for truck construction highlighted progress. •𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Using a corridor of 100 hydrogen trucks as an example, the panel explored local production, trailer delivery and pipelines. India’s grid can connect dispersed solar, wind and hydropower resources. The Paris example cited 11 refuelling stations, including one downtown and two at major airports, linked to the 2024 Olympics. Onsite production requires reliable power, safe storage and trained operators. •𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: A US$1.75 TCO model was referenced, although the available excerpt did not specify its unit. Fuel-delivery and storage systems remain major cost drivers.
