Thousands of tiny brushstrokes went into this autumn path, painted by the Danish artist Hans Andersen Brendekilde in 1902. The image below is in high definition, so zoom in and look at the leaves one by one...
The path runs through a wood at the height of autumn, the trees turning gold and orange and red, and the ground so thickly covered in fallen leaves that you can almost hear them under your feet. A woman sits alone on a bench at the side of the path, while two figures walk away into the distance, and the whole scene glows with that soft, low light you only get on a clear afternoon at this time of year.
The man who painted it was born Hans Andersen in 1857, into a poor family on the island of Funen, and as a boy he did chores on a farm. When he became a painter, there was another young artist working on the same kinds of subjects, also called Andersen, and people kept confusing them. So in 1884 the two friends solved the problem together: each took the name of the village he came from. Hans Andersen became Brendekilde, and his friend became L.A. Ring, one of the greatest Danish painters of his time.
For much of his career, Brendekilde painted the harsh lives of Danish farmworkers, but as he grew older he turned more and more to the beauty of the countryside. This is one of those paintings: a quiet path, a bench, and the kind of autumn day that makes you want to sit down for a while and watch the leaves fall...

Take a good look at the genocide they say is not happening. This has been going on for more than 25 years now. The first attack on a rural Christian village in northern Nigeria by Islamic terrorists took place on 9/11. Not one Christin has been allowed to set foot in that village, Mahanga, ever again. It functions as a command & control base for the genocide. Shame on all those denying this or trying to blame it on “climate change” which the U.S.State dept maintained for years, laughingly saying it was driving the nomadic Muslim herdsmen south into Christian areas. C’mon. You don’t massacre over a hundred thousand people because of “climate change”. The State Dept/CIA is full of some truly terrible people if they are not moved by this.

Finally.
No, for reals. I think.
I thought I said goodbye filming my last day on-camera in the @thechosentv.
Days later, I thought I said farewell again, as we wrapped the entire series itself on our sound stage, despite knowing that marketing days were still ahead.
But this Sunday, it was evident in my bones that not only had I spoken my last speech… not only had we filmed our last shot… but this would be my final day on the hallowed ground that connected me to the television series that changed my life, for what may be the rest of my life (but only God really knows).
This moment I share with you here is part of the culmination of not only the last eight years playing the Savior of the world, but the last twelve years playing Him as part of my creative collaboration with the show’s visionary creator, Dallas Jenkins.
To have the divine blessing of working on a show for eight years, and then to be gifted this cherry on top — walking onto set as Christ, to be captured on film by one of the great masters of the photographic arts, Annie Leibovitz, while listening to John Debney’s haunting score fill the spaces of the set — was at once transcendent and otherworldly.
I was, for a moment, completely speechless.
Seems to be a theme for me this past month.
I cannot stress to you the profound beauty and brilliance of the compositions that Annie, her team, and our cast and team have had the opportunity to create together.
A divine collaboration, if ever there was one. And I cannot wait for you to see the fruit of our intense labor, beginning with Season 6 (on @primevideo Nov 15) and continuing through the release of the final images from these shoots.
Our week creating these stills was a reality that my castmates and I could scarcely wrap our minds around.
God, in His goodness, is profoundly mysterious and deliberately sweet. The thank-you’s He’s given us in these final moments of the most important series of our lives are beyond anything any of us could have even imagined.
I do hope you’ll join us this season as we enter into the end of this story… which ultimately is the beginning of another.
