Asia Regional People’s Declaration: A call for justice and change The Asia Regional People’s Assembly 2026 has adopted a declaration endorsed by 30 civil society organisations and networks, calling for debt cancellation, an end to austerity, universal social protection, climate justice, protection of civic freedoms and an end to war. GCAP Nepal calls for a UN Decade of Climate Emergency Action The NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN), representing 6,700+ NGOs, has appealed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres for stronger global action following the devastating Bhotekoshi River flash flood. NFN President Arjun Bhattarai handed the appeal to Lila Pieters Yahla, UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal, urging the declaration of a Global Climate Emergency to raise global awareness of escalating climate impacts, mobilise unified and immediate action to scale up mitigation and adaptation efforts, expand access to loss and damage funds, and strengthen locally led action. #ClimateJustice #ClimateEmergency #EconomicJustice
