Some interesting data that you may be able to make use of during the upcoming holiday season with that one Uncle of yours
Lots of talk about the gun policies of other countries following the terrible shooting in Oregon.
We actually have a perfect case study with our neighbor to the north.
Canada has always had a much lower homicide rate than ours, even when their gun laws were much more similar to our own.
Beginning in 2019 though, Canada massively cracked down on guns. Among many other changes, in 2022 the country banned the sale of new handguns. That's the longtime dream of the American antigun movement.
Also in 2022, the US went a very different direction, as the Bruen ruling forced several large states to finally begin issuing carry permits. Around the same time, many large states like Florida and Texas went even further and embraced permitless carry. The antigunners all predicted doom, as usual.
And the result?
Homicide has fallen faster in the US than Canada since 2019, and the difference is even more dramatic if you start counting in 2022. We are also set to decline even more in homicide this year, based on FBI data for the first six months of 2026.
In fact, Canada only finally saw a decline below the 2019 level in 2025. Every other year was above the 2019 baseline.
The gun control movement's core premises are bullshit.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
We must repeal the Gun Free School Zones Act.
Georgia residents! This upcoming legislative session, contact your representatives and tell them that you want them to pass SB499 to be sent to the governor for his signature!
Danged interesting comparison. Save his post for future use.

SAF FACTSHEET: After every pro-Second Amendment ruling and reform of the last several years, gun control groups, advocates, and public officials predicted more shootings and more death. Instead, American murder fell to record lows. In our new factsheet, we compile the relevant data and link to 85 discredited predictions, all in one easy-to-read reference document.
Whether it be Bruen, ATF rulemaking, or states adopting constitutional carry, there is one guarantee: if something favorable to the Second Amendment is happening, anti-gun groups and their allies in elected office will issue statements claiming that a surge in violent crime is imminent.
When they make those predictions, journalists often quote them uncritically in their coverage. For example, in its recent article on the Justice Department declining to seek a stay of a ruling against National Firearms Act registration of suppressors and short-barreled rifles and shotguns, CBS News quoted Giffords Executive Director Emma Brown warning that these items “can now easily get into the wrong hands and be used to harm innocent people.” The article did not tell readers that predictions like this one have repeatedly failed to come true in the past.
Not only have they been wrong, but they have missed the mark in breathtaking fashion. For example, following the Bruen ruling, Brady, Everytown, Giffords, and March For Our Lives issued a joint statement saying in no uncertain terms that “this ruling will mean more guns in more places, which will inevitably lead to more tragic acts of vigilantism, gun violence, and preventable deaths.”
As we all now know, nothing of the sort occurred. Four years on from Bruen, the United States will likely record the lowest murder rate on record in 2026. The predictions weren't just wrong. The very opposite of what they said would happen is what actually came to pass.
Yet to our knowledge, no mainstream journalist has demanded that gun control advocates answer for these failed predictions. Instead, they keep quoting their latest claims without even telling the reader that their prior predictions were uniformly wrong.
Hopefully, that is because the news media generally isn't aware of all those prior claims or the current crime data. If so, SAF would like to help them (and the public) be better informed on this topic. We have developed a factsheet that compiles the relevant data, as well as 85 failed predictions from anti-gun groups, prominent anti-gun activists, and anti-gun politicians. These predictions span several topic areas: 39 from Bruen, 17 from states enacting permitless or "constitutional" carry, 11 from the NFA tax being zeroed out and related NFA litigation, 7 more from other Trump-era DOJ and ATF actions, and 11 from the Supreme Court's bump stock decision in Garland v. Cargill. A link is provided to each, as well as to all of the relevant crime data.
Note that even at 85 examples, we do not claim this factsheet is comprehensive. There are likely hundreds more examples out there. But we think we have made our point.
It is time for the news media to push back on the steady stream of failed predictions from the anti-gun side, and we hope our factsheet will be a valuable resource in helping bring about that accountability.

Adventure Outdoors (@AdventureOutdrs) in Smyrna, GA Cobb County just sent out a text stating they are selling SBRs and Suppressors on a 4473. This is a big deal as AO is a huge store located in a densely populated and politically charged county.

I added a box to the time period, starting with the Bruen decision, where gun control groups started constantly saying that crime was going to increase and the country became less safe:

YouTube removed our update video for “violating guidelines.” So we’re posting it here. 👇
On August 13, we won our case against the ATF.
Now, on October 9, the ATF has issued official guidance extending the impact to everyone in free states.
That means big changes for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs in states where they’re permitted. Under the new federal guidance, covered items can move forward without a Form 1 or Form 4. SBRs and SBSs can also transfer on a Form 4473 where permitted.
We’re proud of what this lawsuit has accomplished, grateful to everyone who helped make it happen

Day 55 of posting something suppressed until Georgia removes state law tying suppressor ownership to the NFA process. 🇺🇸
Today was a HUGE win federally.
Effective October 9, ATF says it will no longer require mandatory NFA registration or prior approval for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs and certain other affected firearms AND the guidance applies nationwide.
But Georgia isn’t finished yet.
O.C.G.A. §§ 16-11-122 through 16-11-124 still leave Georgia law tied to NFA registration, and ATF made clear its guidance does not override state law.
That means our mission just got even clearer:
Find your State Senator + Representative and ask them to support changing §§ 16-11-122 through 16-11-124 in the upcoming session.
Federal win ✅
Now fix Georgia. 🇺🇸
Let’s bring Georgia across the finish line.
Effective October 9, 2026, the ATF announced it will no longer require federal registration or prior NFA approval for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and certain other NFA-regulated firearms. Link here: ATF Guidance
According to the ATF's official announcement:
No mandatory NFA registration: The ATF will no longer require registration of the affected firearms.
No prior NFA approval: Individuals will no longer need ATF approval before making or transferring these items under the NFA.
Nationwide application: The policy applies to everyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just the plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
Voluntary registration remains available: The ATF will continue accepting Forms 1, 3, and 4 for those who choose to use them. *This is important for Georgians*
Federal background checks still apply: Existing Gun Control Act requirements, including applicable background checks and dealer recordkeeping, remain in effect.
This ATF guidance does NOT affect state laws.
Machine guns and destructive devices are not included in this change, and other federal restrictions remain in place.
But What About Georgia?
Georgia law, specifically OCGA 16-11-122 through 16-11-124, still generally prohibits possession of certain NFA firearms unless an exemption applies. One important exemption relies on registration under the National Firearms Act.
The ATF specifically warns that its new policy does not override state or local laws.
We encourage you to contact your State Representative and State Senator and ask them to support changes to OCGA 16-11-122 through 16-11-124 during the upcoming legislative session.
An Important Reminder
Until Georgia law is amended, do not assume that an unregistered suppressor or other affected firearm can legally be possessed or transferred in Georgia simply because the ATF no longer requires federal registration.
GA2A will continue monitoring these developments and working toward a legislative solution.
This is a significant victory at the federal level. Now we need to change Georgia law.
