Twitter is full of surprises. Today I got called a 'sexist asshole' by Roseanne Barr of 80s sitcom fame. :-)

Crazy! In a situation like this, what happens if the police ask the person involved to attend an interview, how can they say I’m not allowed to talk to you?

On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault.
I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking.
She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police.

Idea taken from someone on here who did it for English football.
The first League defeat for each team this season.
Featuring the 93 clubs across the top 5 tiers of Scottish football.
Only 3 clubs remain unbeaten.

The leader of a Kenyan doomsday cult has been sentenced to 200 years in prison for the murders of 190 children and one adult.
Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church ordered its followers to starve themselves and their children to death so they could “meet Jesus” before the world ended.
Mackenzie received two consecutive 100-year terms: one for murder by starvation and another for direct homicide.
Channel 4 News’ Symeon Brown investigated Paul Mackenzie’s cult for Unreported World in 2023. You can watch the full film on YouTube now.

A thread 🧵If you wanted to watch seven hours of Fox News personalities losing their ever-loving minds on election night but don't want to waste seven hours of your life I've condensed it for you. Hour 1 - DENIAL - They had no idea what was coming 1/7

Appeal to the President of Israel and the Leaders of the Political Parties
74 Signatories
We, senior figures in the military and security establishment, veterans of the defense forces, academia, medicine, the judiciary, government ministries and the Israeli civil service, hereby appeal to the leaders of the political parties, the President of Israel, the elected members of the Knesset, and the Israeli public as a whole, demanding that the Arab citizens of Israel and their elected representatives in the Knesset not be excluded from any future government coalition.
Our demand of the President-elect is clear and unequivocal: Entrust the task of forming a government to the member of Knesset who has the support of the greatest number of MKs. This is a well-established procedure, as has been done in the past, and not according to the size of the party that the candidate represents.
The desire of the vast majority of Israel’s Arab citizens, as expressed in their voting patterns, to participate in the parliamentary process and to play a full and equal role in the affairs of the state, is of the utmost importance and must not be ignored. It is essential to the future of democracy and the fabric of Israeli society, as well as to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Signing an agreement on the basis of a common denominator, even a very limited one, and the actual participation of the Arab democratic parties in a coalition, constitutes a historic recognition of the Arab citizens and their tradition of political representation. It is also an essential foundation for agreements, policies, coalition principles, and ways of thinking that can help resolve disputes or act in cases of disagreement.
Ignoring the views of 20% of the country’s citizens on the basis of nationality is racist, divisive, and undemocratic.
The spirit of the Declaration of Independence and the Jewish moral values demand that the Arab citizens of Israel be regarded as an inseparable part of the State of Israel and treated accordingly.

It’s grim when you slowly watch someone you liked and followed for years on here metastasise into an anti-trans extremist. It’s a bit like coming across racist Facebook posts from your favourite uncle. Anyhoo, life’s too short to humour such people, so I block and move on.

This is a daft non-story. Redeployment policies make use of staff with experience and expertise even while their posts may change. They are doing work that needs doing. heraldscotland.com/news/2666…

Really good victories for Alloa, Peterhead and yet again Hamilton Accies in League 1, but I can't ignore another sensational goal laden performance from @RossCounty who again take our League 1 performance of the week.
That's 15 goals they've put past QoS in the past month!
The Staggies have scored 38 league goals in just 10 outings and they've found the net 47 times in their last 8 games in all competitions.
Fuck sake lads, these Freddos aren't cheap!
Another 60 coming your way!

There you have it folks. A Times columnist calling for a Union to be proscribed. What a shameful downfall for this newspaper.
McGills compare John Swinney to dictators like Clement Attlee over possible bus nationalisation.

I think the highest goals scored in a season by any team in any division of the Scottish League is 132 by Hearts in 1957/58. Only 10 games in, but after today's 7-1 win at QoS, Ross County are on target to beat it.

For a defensive midfielder, Chris Hamilton is a goal machine. A goal every ninety minutes is peak striker territory.

Mothin Ali – apology and Correction
On 18 July 2024, I published a post on my X account in which I stated that Mr Mothin Ali, an elected official and Deputy Leader of the Green Party, was involved in the Harehills riots of July 2024 in which people attacked the police.
That statement was incorrect. In fact, Mr Ali was asked by the police to use his position of trust in the community to help bring about peace on the streets. Mr Ali attended the scene for that purpose alone. He was not involved in the disorder or violence in any way, and on the contrary he was one of the principal reasons of bringing an end to the disorder. I offer my sincere apologies to Mr Ali for my post, the harm I caused, and I have agreed to pay him compensation to vindicate his reputation.
An away win v Forfar tonight means @RossCounty are seeded in the next round and have avoided a tie against @clydebankfc.
