Okay this is crazy... Before Bitcoin, David Chaum, the inventor of anonymous digital cash and founder of DigiCash, launched a digital currency called CyberBucks in 1994. It had a fixed supply of just 1 million coins, and over 60,000 people registered for the experiment. The crazy part is that some of the biggest names in crypto actually used it. Adam Back sold his RSA T-shirts for CyberBucks, Hal Finney used it as prize money in a cryptography challenge, and Zooko Wilcox was literally trading it for real dollars. There were even over 100 shops accepting it. By 1995, all 1 million CyberBucks had been issued. This was 14 years before Beenz and Bitcoin... Pairing to $ZEC because David Chaum pioneered anonymous digital cash, and Zcash carries forward the financial privacy narrative. Zooko Wilcox also connects both histories.
