Can't tell you how happy I am that this documentary is being made. RaKalam Bob Moses is a true living legend. His stories deserve to be preserved, and if you can afford to help, there's still time. igg.me/at/livingmusic #jazz #drums youtu.be/bSLpFUu_AWY?si=-Ej7…

Remembering the great Wayne Shorter who was born on this day in 1933. One of the the most influential hard-bop and modal musicians, Shorter was also a respected composer and a pioneer of jazz-rock fusion music.  After reaching wide prominence in the late 1950s as a member of, and eventually primary composer for, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Shorter moved on to join Miles Davis's "Second Great Quintet," and from there he co-founded the jazz fusion band Weather Report. Many of his compositions have become jazz standards and his output has earned worldwide recognition, critical praise and various commendations. He has recorded over 20 albums as a bandleader. He passed away earlier this year. Here, he is improvising with vocalist Bobby McFerrin in Los Angeles, 1986. McFerrin had no idea that Wayne Shorter would appear in the audience.

Yes there were some replays that had to be done for clearance purposes. We challenge you to find them!! I spent over 4 months doing it with the man Prince Paul himself along with the members of the band. Set to be released on 3/3/23. It’s the Magic Number!!

Music needs to be seen and heard. If not at the actual concert then it must be documented. If I had never seen EWF live on @HBO in 1982 I'd probably be doin animation for @MarvelStudios . It's important to get videos and to record live shows.
