How am I supposed to explain something like this to my young children? Long story short, yesterday evening this lady came walking through my yard yelling. If your 6l80/90 goes into R and engages but doesnt engage in any forward gears, check the fluid. If the fluid is in good shape, doesn't smell burned with any particulates in it, then you likely have this checkball worn out and stuck in the valve body separator plate. Cleaned up the valve body, stripped and replaced the plate gaskets, polished the checkball hole chamfer and threw in new check balls, vehicles operates perfectly.
