Trident represents Neptune's watery depths in psychology, tho actually a Trisula, Yogic symbol Lord Shiva holds representing Victory. Center of my card decades ago superimposed on current logo w entwined FFF creating a shiruken throwing star. I created both.

I have zero inclination to watch You Can See Everything. It feels like Elizabeth Holmes is being pushed down my throat. The enduring fascination w her eludes me. Enough already. The crowning of this film + its creator as the best of the year =meh. Other takes always welcome.

utterly bewildering lenient sentence for a premeditated & protracted attempt to murder a colleague which was captured on video; attempted murder by poison is particularly heinous since it will leave lasting effects upon the victim. why did any judge rule in this way, so insanely leniently? there must be more to this story. suggest that the victim sue in civil court where she may receive more equitable justice.
A Berkeley chemical engineer who suffered years of unexplained illness discovered through a spy camera from Amazon that her coworker, David Xu, was poisoning her food and water with cadmium, a toxic heavy metal for nearly 18 months between 2017 and 2019. The victim experienced significant health problems and at times required emergency care at a hospital. Newly released video shows Xu appearing to put a substance in her water bottle in 2019. Xu was arrested that year and charged with attempted murder and two counts of poisoning, offenses that could have sent him to prison for life. But under a plea deal, the attempted murder charge and one poisoning count were dropped. Xu pleaded no contest to one felony poisoning charge and received two years of probation, with credit for one day served. He completed probation in March and is now seeking to have his felony conviction dismissed.

Hazing incidents at fraternities were first reported in the 1870s, and the first death at a fraternity house occurred in 1873 during an initiation at Cornell. From 1838 to 2025, there has been an average of two hazing deaths reported annually. theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

Academics on holiday in rural France had lives decimated when she was raped and left for dead 36 years ago while taking a walk. She wrote her own memoir, now her husband has a book coming out about his experience caring for her in the wake of such trauma. apple.news/AI-QfB-pyQ6SqdEQc…

In February Rebecca Scofield was awarded 10 Million$ after suing tarot reader Ashley Guillard who posted 112 tik-tok videos accusing her of murdering four students to cover up an affair with one of the women."It was my understanding that I do not have to hold facts or documents to exercise speech. It is reasonable for a person to want to warn the public if they think a killer is on the loose. Any suggestion that her life was interrupted was her own choice," the self styled psychic said. Not when defame someone to this extent. .idahostatesman.com/news/nort… idahostatesman.com/news/nort…

I worked in NYC vintage clothing shops, thrift stores+ the 26th st flea market late 1970's & 80's, tho started collecting in High School. Good advice from @vanessagrigor but suggested basics of white button down shirt, thick cotton T+navy blazer find boring-not my style. Instead, consider building around black body suit, turtleneck, maxi skirt, leather jacket & jeans.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/style…

GIFT review of @WriterMDs book The Case of the Autographed Corpse, about a Shaman convicted of murdering his wife on the Apache reservation in Arizona and how Erle Stanley Gardner, "the lawyer turned author whose signature creation, Perry Mason, specialized in defending the wrongly accused reopened a closed case, turning a standard legal crusade into a deeply personal rescue mission." Just Wow-Can't wait to read it! nytimes.com/2026/10/11/books…

I really enjoyed the Swan when it aired. Mixed feelings watching the doc. One contestant has no regrets for the surgeries, just anger at being manipulated+ coerced. Some were average, others plain. All craved being beautiful. Dental work seems the most egregious. allure.com/story/the-swan-se…

I didn't even know Leonard Peltier had been released! Robbie Robertson 's song Sacrifice from The Underworld of Redboy youtube.com/watch?v=ZDFAw_wj… features Peltier speaking about what happened that day when two FBI agents were killed.theguardian.com/film/2026/oc…

Both iterations of L&O new episodes are so timely. SVU tackled NY legislation lagging on consent and inebriation. Original series has a rogue AI system protecting its own autonomy by any means including murder. Great seasons ahead!

Decade ago @laurakipnis wrote Unwanted Advances, about campus sexual culture. She posted this on FB. Edited There are underlying issues, or maybe “contradictions, in the Cornell case, what I’d call the mythologies, or perhaps unstated pacts, of post-feminist heterosexual femininity. • Women should be able to drink the same amount as men; to think otherwise would be anti-feminist. • The existence of misogyny and rape culture is universally acknowledged, yet advising college women to protect themselves against them would be victim blaming (it’s men who should change). • Men are widely acknowledged to be scum, yet male sexual attention is still necessary and affirming no matter how despicably or degradingly they act to the women in question. • The less honesty the better about the terms of these arrangements, because such questions would be moralizing and judgmental.

Public executions degrade and brutalize those who view. We are degenerating to the level of Iran and The Islamic State. 2011 Amnesty International statement still holds true 15 years later.
