For over a year, experts (desperate to appear relevant) went out of their way to highlight that starship had never been orbital and that starship success should have a big asterisk as a result. Meanwhile, anyone paying attention knew that “going orbital” was relatively trivial step up for what they’d already achieved. One engine burning for 19 seconds adding an incremental ~1% speed was what it took. Big accomplishment to be sure, but relatively minor compared to the other feats accomplished over 13 test flights. Anyone who put in even a small amount of work could see this. Keep this in mind, the next time a skeptic appears to fixate on something as a major and impossible hurdle. Not everything is what it appears to be.
