Reactive v5 will release in a week, on September 5th around 11pm PDT. If you use overrides, they may break. If you update settings on the 5th, they may be lost. Otherwise, everything should Just Work. Hopefully. Now that the scary warning is out of the way, what's improved?

I feel that @DesertBus is going to be really, really good this year. Only 5 days left until we start!

Desert Bus for Hope preparation has transitioned from [internal screaming] to [external screaming] idk if I've just black-holed the memories of prior years but it feels like I've worked at least twice as hard this year but I'm excited. It should be a very good show.

Godot is awesome?? I've tried making games several times over the years. Never got the hang of unity. Renpy was good but limited. Other tools felt clunky Began two days ago and I feel it's so easy to just make things work in Godot. I'm probably doing things wrong but I'm happy

Transport Fever 3 came out and now I need to calculate how much I can play and still get all my Desert Bus work done...

Tokyo Game Show is pretty dang cool. Especially loved the indie section, its always fun to see what wacky control schemes people will come up with, or ways they mix genres together.

Mori & Liz's cover of Libera me from Hell is legit amazing. Hope one day an animator replicates scenes from the anime with the two of them to go along with it.

In Montreal airport. Idk what to do for my hour layover. I hate it here. People loudly talking on the phone. Putting their feet on the chairs. Hot as a sauna. I want to go back to Japan.

Started a 100x cost Factorio run yesterday. I'm now 22 hours into it and it's a ton of fun. Dear lord are the bugs way harder though

I did it... I installed Bazzite and moved everything over. Noticeable increase in performance & drop in CPU/GPU temp Most things I easily moved and configured within a day. 1password and Voice-to-Text were the annoying bits Also Twitter video sometimes crashes Chrome...

Software dev stuff required learning how Distroboxes work but once I did that was also very easy but tbh I feel these days I mostly use Chrome, Discord, HSR and VSCode. I don't play DRM games and I use the terminal a lot, so I'm basically the best case user for linux

Everyone on Japan twitter posting about the earthquake. Multiple Discord DMs. Feels like I'm back in SF

Cecilia Immergreen of Hololive English Justice is personally sponsoring a new train line. What an incredible commitment to public transit.

Heavily considering giving up on all plans and ambitions for the year and replacing it all with a 1500 hour Pyanodon's Factorio playthrough

Reactive gets 1,000+ images uploaded every hour, every day. Only 12% are animated. 70% PNG, 12% JPG, 10% GIF, 7% WEBP. 40% are duplicates. 25% don't get used and are deleted the next day. Converting to AVIF takes uploads from ~830kb to ~32kb, a 25x reduction.

Been getting spam bots in my discord server for a while that just post 4 images in every channel. Does anybody know a way to automod them? Ideally I don't want to install a 3rd party bot. Feels like the built-in discord mod tools aren't powerful enough for this :(
