Can't say I'm surprised, either... But my time at a Navy 3-star command may have heavily biased me against admirals.

Nothing that wouldn't be solved with a it of political will and a couple few pallets of M855.
Good luck with that, considering all the violent crime your government hides because they don't want to be seen as racist. How many school children get raped every day over there while you and yours look the other way? Quisling.
Oh, why would that be? Please, be specific. Because I hurt your feelings and made mean tweets? Oh no, are you going to report me to the Home Office?
It's only nonsense because you lack the ability to understand anything that doesn't cleanly slot into your ideological prison, much like you probably don't understand what suicidal empathy is and likely advocate for all the grooming gang shit, if indirectly.
Yeah, leaving them on automatic was interesting. They lock onto any return fitting the engagement profile. Civilian airliners, sea gulls, kites, paragliders... Occupied buildings.

As others have said, it's not just "hey let's genderswap this character," and going with it being a fix-it undersells the idea. Draco was a shithead and the redemption bit at the end felt very half-assed. Rowling didn't fuck up the ending as bad as HBO did GoT, but the drop in quality/consistency was noticable and really felt like "I have no idea WTF to do with all these loose ends, so lets throw darts at a board because I'm at least going to finish the series."
Malfoid removes a mostly extraneous character that never quite fits the purpose intended for him... And the new character simply fits better, on top of fixing the ending, and adds a real romance angle that simply did not exist in the original.
Basically, it's not a duct tape fix, it's a structural upgrade.

Nah, you're not being an ass. I haven't published anything in years. Definately not going to beat GRRM for that record though. :p

Well... that shit's irrefutably treason. Now the question is... will our feckless elected officials act on it or is somebody going to have to step up and take one for the team?

Oh, and fair warning... Harvester is *not* short. Current word count is ~276k words, or roughly 1,000 pages. It's basically half again longer than Dusk Knight.
Some people are naturally retarded... others spend most of their lives training to get that way. Being that stupid isn't just a matter of a non-standard chromosome count, I suspect a mix of natural talent and no small amount of effort.

Otherwise, it's been a number of factors that knee-capped my release pace.
Primarily me finding out that literally every ADHD med I've tried kills my ability to write. It took an embarrassingly long amount of time for me to even realize what was going on in the first place.
More recently, my parents have been having a *lot* of health issues so I've been spending a lot of time trying to help them out. They're both in their 80s. Mom's developed multiple myeloma, parkinson's, and some other shit, and it's been a remarkably shitty experience for everyone.
I really wish I could just be a writing machine, but that's evidently not how things work in my head. When I try to force things, my output is just utter trash provided I get any output to begin with.

If you're hard up, you can get the pre-edit (essentially eARC) of Harvester off Royal Road:

Fair warning, there are certainly more than a few rough spots and typos present. I'm currently about half way through the first edit pass which is primarily geared for typos and small problems. Second pass will sand down the rougher spots.

It's less "not continue" and more "life got in the way." I started writing Harvester toward the end of last year and I'm currently in edits. The next book in my sci-fi series is about 80% done and should be next out the door.

Does kinda make you wonder how far shit has to go before these clowns have a "Are we the baddies?" moment...

This just in. The secret to success is simple: stop sucking. Or start sucking, if you're in the right job field...

Eh, sacks of shit are at least useful for fertilizer, provided they aren't sourced from predators or scavengers. These people are the human equivalent of soup forks.

Of course not, because asking questions gets answers and some of those answers might make him think... And some of those thoughts might make him question the narrative he's been fed.

Yep. A lot of people grew up without ever getting punched in the mouth and it shows. Childish isn't necessarily the wrong word to use, though. They have a very Disney level appreciation for reality.

Hah, for one: ADHD. I never remember.
Two: I've been leaning into editing Harvester now that my mom isn't in-and-out of the hospital on the regular, so (stupidly) advertising isn't at the top of my mind.
