People will constantly attack you in life. One of their main weapons will be to instill in you doubts about yourself – your worth, your abilities, your potential. They will often disguise this as their objective opinion, but invariably it has a political purpose – they want to keep you down.

This piece is written from the deepest part of my heart, in solidarity with Kurdish women across all parts of Kurdistan, particularly Rojhelatî (Eastern Kurdistan/Iranian Kurdish) women imprisoned in Iran, whose courage, resilience, and resistance continue to inspire us. It is also dedicated to all women who, through their everyday acts of resistance and struggle, risk their lives, challenge oppression, and fight tirelessly to build a freer, more just, and dignified world for us all.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to all the courageous women who participated in this research, generously sharing their experiences, stories, and voices. This work would not have been possible without their trust and contributions.
I also extend my deepest appreciation to the wonderful @FuadShilan, the editor of this timely and important volume, for her dedication and invaluable work in bringing these voices and perspectives together.
Unfortunately, the chapter is not open access. If you would like to read it, please feel free to send me a direct message. I would be more than happy to share it with you.

I am delighted to share that my edited volume, Women, Power, and Gender in the Middle East, has now been published by Routledge and is available for pre-order.
It was a pleasure to work with such outstanding contributors on a volume that examines gender, power, and violence.
My warm thanks to all the authors for their thoughtful chapters and to Routledge for bringing this project to life. @HafzaGrdp @RojinMukriyan @katia0 @UlkerCemre
