I know I said I was going to try to steer clear of mammoth Twitter threads, & I've been good for a few months now, so perhaps you'll forgive me this indulgence just this once, but I need to address the consolidation elephant in the room. Because some of the arguments have... 1/42

I also wanted to pull out a special part of the piece: fuck Jensen Huang. By forcing customers to take early delivery of GPUs to boost quarterly revenues, he artificially inflated the price of RAM and every consumer electronic. He and his hyperscale paypigs are scumbags.
Free newsletter: In July, Apollo Economist Torsten Slok said that "AI better work out, or we have a problem."
Facing ever-growing high-interest debt, negative-EBITDA AI labs and $200bn+ in warehoused GPUs, that's exactly what the AI industry has.

Street Fighter might be an absolutely terrible film. I could criticise the script, direction, the inconsistent art direction, sound direction & so much more besides. Genuinely it is a bad film.
However...
It's genuinely a brilliant Street Fighter film. It's fun, goofy & camp.
The Street Fighter walkouts are still piling up.
After the opening-night reports, more moviegoers are now posting on TikTok and X that they left before the movie ended.
One fan says he hasnβt walked out of a movie in 15 to 20 years.
Street Fighter broke the streak.
βAbout an hour into Street Fighter, I decided, life is short and I donβt wanna watch this anymore.β
He says the fights were βlackluster,β the CGI on Blanka was βhorrible,β and the breaking point came when Blanka scratched his armpit and joked that it smelled like hot dogs.
That was enough.
He left.
Others are saying the same thing.
βOne of the worst movies this year.β
βWe literally walked out before movie finished.β
βI was the third person to walk out of Street Fighter.β
And one fan says he walked out of the IMAX showing because the editing, cuts, and fights were βawful.β
There are also more reports of empty theaters.
That lines up with what we saw opening night, when my 9:45 p.m. Friday screening had exactly one ticket sold:
Mine.
Street Fighter is opening around $30-$31 million on an $82 million budget.
Thatβs a movie that badly needs strong word of mouth.
Instead, people are filming themselves in parking lots explaining why they walked out.

This is what you need to do in this league, go on a winning run. You have to string together multiple wins. Back-to-back wins are nice, but it's teams who can consistently go on 5 to 6 game winning runs that get out of thus league. That's what we need to do.
KRO.
Liam Millar is obviously going to get all the headlines today, & probably rightly so.
However, I want to give a shoutvout to Tomoki Iwata today, he has been fantastic. Two really good assists & he's picking solid forward passes. My MotM so far.

There's a lot of silly Europe vs USA nonsense going on right now, especially with yanks right now beating their chest over the Tesla roadsters parlour tricks. But the Brabham BT46B did the ground effect fan in '78 in F1. Europeans just don't shout about shit because it's gauche.
A Derby fan friend of mine said we'd shown some interest in Bobby Clark, & I honestly had no idea why. I thought possibly as a 10 ir something. But he's been playing deeper at Derby. Be a shame to see Iwata leave, but I understand if he wants to move back home with his family.
π¨ Chris Davies says Tomoki Iwata could leave Birmingham City at the end of the season.
The feeling is that Iwata will return to Japan to finish his career.
Iwata still 'a critical player' for Blues in the eyes of Davies.

Yeah...
We need to have these US social media monopolies broken up.
This story is extremely important:
A whistleblower revealed that Brazil's far-right Bolsonaro family dynasty met with Meta to discuss US plans to interfere in Brazil's election, to prevent Lula from winning.
Lula's Facebook and Instagram accounts were censored a few days before the first round of the presidential election.
This had a huge impact on the election, because Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which are all owned by Meta, are the most popular apps in Brazil, and are hugely influential all across Latin America. (Jair Bolsonaro's son FlΓ‘vio was declared the winner of the first round of the vote, by a narrow margin.)
Meta later admitted that Lula's accounts had been restricted, but it claimed that this was supposedly due to a "technical error"...
The whistleblower who disclosed this is Nadia Beller, a Bolivian journalist who was almost killed by hitmen hired by Fernando Cerimedo, a far-right Argentine political operative who oversees election interference, bots, and disinformation campaigns.
Cerimedo is closely linked to the US government and has worked for pretty much every right-wing leader in Latin America. He was photographed with Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Bolsonaro family, and he received an award at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida a few months before he was arrested for the failed assassination attempt against Beller, his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
