Today, we celebrate the opening of the offices of the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), in Kigali, Rwanda. FEDA, the development impact investment platform of the Africa Export Import Bank (Afreximbank), is mandated to implement the Bank’s equity investment across Africa. Its primary objective is to provide developmental equity and quasi-equity capital to companies that are involved in intra-African trade and export development/manufacturing in Africa.
FEDA is poised to play a pivotal role in addressing Africa’s $110 billion financing shortfall in equity financing for intra-African trade, value-added export development and industrialisation value chains.
This historic occasion was marked by the unveiling of a plaque by Rt. Hon. Dr. Edouard Ngirente, Prime Minister of the Republic of Rwanda, alongside Prof. Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of Afreximbank and Chairman of the Board of Directors of FEDA.
