U.S. coal exports reached 66.4 million short tons through August, up 8.6% from a year earlier, with India accounting for 27% of the total at 18.1 million short tons. As global coal demand rises, American producers are already helping meet growing energy and steelmaking needs overseas. Read this week’s Count On Coal blog for more: countoncoal.org/2026/10/the-…

“It has become painfully clear that the United States has allowed itself to become too reliant on unreliable sources of critical minerals, products and manufacturing—all of which are essential for our national security,” JPMorganChase chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon said when the initiative was announced. share.google/TK8uhpXahoNdxUD… @mining @MiningAmerica @NationalMining @MiningFan

Replying to @NioCorp
@NioCorp's Elk Creek Project in Nebraska is advancing as a potential new domestic source of niobium, scandium, titanium and magnetic rare earths used across manufacturing, energy, aerospace and defense. With the U.S. currently 100% net import reliant for several of the minerals the project plans to produce, Elk Creek highlights the importance of bringing more U.S. mining and processing capacity online. —> niocorp.com/u-s-energy-secre…

#ICYMI~ #Coal has had a series of regulatory wins under the Trump administration, but it has struggled to regain market share. @Frontieras North America believes it has a way to change that. The company has just signed a memorandum of understanding with Western Fuels-Wyoming Inc. to explore building a coal-to-products processing plant at the Dry Fork Mine north of Gillette, Frontieras Chief Commercial Officer Andrea Moran told Cowboy State Daily. cowboystatedaily.com/2026/09… @daily_cowboy @WesternFuels74 @NationalMining

A new map of critical mineral deposits in the United States shows nearly twice as many deposits as the last dataset released in 2024. However, the increase is not due to the discovery of hundreds of new mineral deposits. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in the newly released map, has documented 1,271 deposits across 41 states and Puerto Rico, an increase from 684 in its previous count. newsweek.com/americas-critic… @Newsweek @NationalMining @MiningAmerica @SecretaryBurgum @FriendsofCoalW @FriendsofCoalKY @FriendsofCoalWV @MiningFan @Utah_Mining @IdahoMining @KentuckyCoal @nevadamining @DOECMEI @RMCMI

The bill would ensure AI data centers are forced to pay for the increased electricity they use and would mark a significant change to a landmark environmental law that critics say slows the process of building energy projects.
