Clean indoor air is a shared goal. Many of us—across organizations, initiatives, and advocacy groups—are working to make it real. We may differ on timelines or tactics, but let’s not lose sight of where we want to go. Which groups do you see pushing in the same direction?

Every infection avoided is one less illness to face and one less recovery to go through. Prevention is most effective when multiple protective measures work together. Masking, improving indoor air quality, testing, vaccination, and reducing exposure in shared spaces all play a role in limiting the spread of respiratory infections. Making prevention part of everyday life helps protect ourselves and our communities. #PublicHealth #COVID #COVID19 #InfectionPrevention #DiseasePrevention

A suspected plague event in Irkutsk, Russia, highlights the importance of early response to airborne-transmissible and rapidly fatal diseases. The first hours and days can be critical in preventing further transmission and reducing the risk of an outbreak. The trauma bay offers a humbling perspective: how quickly life can change, how fragile it is, and how much it matters when someone shows up for you. May we never become so busy chasing the life we want that we forget to be grateful for the life we have ✨

When I talk to people about the ongoing impact of COVID, I find it helpful to lead with a concrete, undeniable indicator, which is that there are about 3,000,000 more disabled workers in the US than at pandemic onset.
PMC COVlD Update, Week of Oct 12, 2026 (Posted 48 hrs early) 🔸Levels revised upward for a double-peak 🔸39-state outbreak (see ALT) 🔸PMC estimates 750,000 new daily infections, & 1 in 65 people actively infectious 🔸1st time starting Oct w/rising levels since 2020 1/🧵

COVID-19 prevention shouldn't be limited to periods of increased transmission. COVID-19 continues to circulate year-round, making consistent prevention an important part of protecting individual and community health. Improving indoor air quality, wearing well-fitting respirators, and supporting accessible prevention measures can help reduce transmission in everyday settings. Prevention should be built into our schools, workplaces, healthcare facilities, and shared spaces, not treated as a temporary response to surges. #COVID19 #COVIDPrevention #PublicHealth #COVIDIsNotOver #LongCOVID

In the face of a novel pandemic virus transmitted via the airborne route, we politicised respiratory protection rather than normalising it.
Every generation is insane, just blind to it. What will future generations see as our insanity?

We need PREVENTION against airborne COVID! @NYCMayor, @NYCCouncil and @GovKathyHochul, our government needs to provide N95 respirators, especially to workers and vulnerable people. Sufficient ventilation and public health awareness are urgently needed! 🩵 @nycHealthy @PosDevNYC
BREAKING: NYS reports a surprisingly big increase in Covid hospitalizations this week. They rose by 84 to 518. This is a surprise given that cases have been dropping. Even with hospitalizations often lagging, I did not expect to see this. NYC and the Mid Hudson region up big.

“CO2 at 2035 PPM says poor ventilation. #NYCC is a zoo this year! COVID is Not Over!” #MaskTogetherAmerica interviewed 33 maskers on the 1st day of 2026 @NY_Comic_Con. Public health needs to prioritize prevention of aerosol - infection that triggers disabling chronic illness.
Ventilation at @newyorkcomiccon is super insufficient for the crowd this year. COVID and other pathogens are spreading. We need safer #IndoorAir. Take precautions. @MsJulieSLam at #NYCC #MaskTogetherAmerica

Long COVID can develop even after a mild COVID-19 infection. Symptoms can persist or emerge weeks or months after the initial infection, including fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, and other health complications. Long COVID is not limited to those who experience severe illness. Taking steps to reduce COVID-19 infections remains important for protecting your long-term health. Why is the NHS acting like Covid is over when we know it significantly increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, brain problem, immune dysregulation and more, @YvetteCooperMP @andyburnham @AngelaRayner ? Why can’t we even buy Novavax vaccines here?
Covid wave well in progress, despite NHS Public Health claims of everyone being immune (used to justify UK wide NHS restricting vaccines, antivirals, testing & staff testing). Clearly they’ve got it badly wrong & everyone will be worse off for their incompetence.
