So so.

The last time we saw Kyrie Irving play basketball, he stood at the free throw line, thanking god through tears, and knocked both down in an arena as silent as a crypt. One of the most emotional scenes in Mavs history.
So dang happy he's back.

He’s made six first team All-NBAs already. There are 16 players ALL TIME with more first team All-NBA berths. If he was to not do one single other thing in the NBA, Luka Doncic will have lived up to the hype lol.

This is why we all have bias. I admit mine, and think that Mavs run was awesome. They beat 51, 57 and 56 wins team and ran into a juggernaut 64 win Celtics team in the Finals (to me easily best Champion of the decade apart from the Warriors). Some see it as fraudulent. Luka/Mavs also beat a 64 win team on their way to WCF in 22.
I love Jokić (think he is the best player of last 5 years) and this is not a dis, but one could say Jokić beating 42, 45, 43, and 44 win teams in 2023 is more of a lucky break. I think the 24 Mavs team beats 23 Heat, and 23 Nuggets dont beat the 24 Celtics and if both teams face different opponents the narratives would be totally different. But this is not how it works, and you have to earn and work on your next chance...

This is what Cooper Flagg's rookie season looked like. His eFG% rose 6.1 points when Ryan Nembhard, who I like by the way, was on the floor (53.9%) compared to when he was off the floor (47.8%). That's a completely different player.
Now imagine Nembhard is Kyrie Irving.
