We have the capacity to make our own steel in this country for jobs and national security #SaveOurSteel
The message in Port Talbot and Newport today was clear, workers and members of the local communities will fight together for the future of UK steel.
It's crunch time. TATA must change direction, @unitetheunion will not stop fighting until they do.

Please show support for UK Steel
Steel is a foundation industry essential for the success of the UK economy. Despite this, due to years of inaction & an abdication of leadership, this essential industry is being left to wither. Support is growing fast for the Workers' Plan for #Steel✍️➡️ megaphone.org.uk/petitions/s…

Labour backs our fantastic steelworkers. We cannot allow Britain to lose the ability to make primary steel.
Decarbonisation must never mean deindustrialisation. The drive for green steel must mean more jobs, not fewer.

Steel is key to the UK’s economic future.
There is real anxiety and uncertainty following yesterday’s events.
Steel communities deserve certainty and a just transition for their future.
I will continue to make that case and stand ready to work with all stakeholders to do so.

Labour is ambitious for our steel industry.
Today, at Tata Steel, I set out our plan to get Britain building. We will drive up the demand for steel, preserve jobs and create a generation of new ones too.
