$10M in rewards. Zero gimmicks. Maximum impact. Operation Bootstrap is here to grow $SPOT, fuel liquidity, and set the stage for $USDaf โ€” a decentralized, inflation-resistant stable asset by @asymmetryfin. Add liquidity in the SPOT/USDC pool and earn $AMPL rewards while moving beyond the low returns of stablecoin pairs without taking on the high risks of volatile assets. With reduced price swings and robust base yields, itโ€™s no boom-bust chaos โ€” just a sustainable system for stability and growth. Head over to spot.cash/staking/

Using baskets of volatile and/or inelastic supply collateral to generate stable value currency is an experiment that failed almost 100 years ago when the gold standard imploded. We never should have tried it in #crypto. $Spot is the only flatcoin that utilizes decentralized and elastic supply collateral that can withstand the vicissitudes of this highly volatile market without triggering cascading liquidations. spot.cash

Read on โฌ‡๏ธ /๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง #Crypto has come a long way since 2008 and the original inception of Bitcoin. Since then, countless innovations have allowed a true digital economy to rise (the blockchain economy), giving birth to decentralized finance (DeFi) as we know it today. However, it wasnโ€™t until 2023, a whopping 15 years later, that the blockchain economy could finally solve the problems that Satoshi Nakamoto set out to solve with Bitcoin - but couldnโ€™t. Satoshi pioneered the creation of a decentralized peer-to-peer asset that could be acquired, traded, and held without reliance on any centralized custodians. While this was a tremendous accomplishment, Satoshi himself realized that Bitcoin lacked some of the core properties of sound money as โ€œthere is nobody to act as a central bank or federal reserve to adjust the money supply as population of users grows,โ€ as stated by Satoshi in a 2009 post. Satoshi knew that without an adjustable supply, Bitcoin would never properly function as money but rather function as a digital, scarce commodity. He states, โ€œAs the number of users grows, the value per coin increases. It has the potential for a positive feedback loop; as users increase, the value goes up, which could attract more usersโ€ wanting to benefit from this rising value. For these reasons, #stablecoins have attempted to fill the gap of sound money within the blockchain economy, introducing major centralization and censorship risks relying heavily on the traditional banking system for stability in reserves. As demonstrated by the Silicon Valley Bank collapse and the depegging of $USDC, this danger is unacceptable for the blockchain economy and goes against all of the principles Satoshi had for creating an alternative financial system. Ampleforth emerged in 2019 as a novel answer to the scalability issue, unveiling the $AMPL token and its unique rebasing mechanism. This innovative approach allows AMPL to adjust its supply algorithmically in response to demand while aiming for a stable unit of account pegged to the CPI-adjusted 2019 USD. Unlike Bitcoin, where increased demand leads to a rise in value per coin, Ampleforth's system enables network ownership to appreciate, enhancing the network's appeal without the downside of deflationary spirals. Of course, AMPL by itself still does not solve the money problem. It is too volatile alone to accomplish this. This necessitated the creation of an asset that could benefit from this scalability but maintain durable price stability. Other attempts to create decentralized, stable money have failed miserably since then, with one example being Terra Luna. The system must be highly durable and flexible; otherwise, a break anywhere could lead to cascading failures. Addressing the volatility that often plagues cryptocurrencies, Ampleforth and @ButtonDeFi introduced a tranching mechanism that resegments AMPL into high (junior) and low-risk (senior) portions. While tranching is a concept familiar within the realm of investment banking, its application within DeFi is groundbreaking. It allows Ampleforth to offer two distinct assets: one that absorbs volatility (i.e. $stAMPL) and another that promises stability (i.e. $SPOT). This mechanism ensures that SPOT's collateral remains unaffected by the wild price swings characteristic of other digital assets. This simple mechanism is what allows SPOT to be highly scalable, decentralized, and durable, all while adequately meeting the essential characteristics of sound money: 1. SPOT maintains unit-of-account properties as the collateral is rotatable, on-chain, and decentralized. 2. SPOT operates as a medium of exchange because it is highly scalable and liquid. 3. Serves as a reliable store of value, as volatility has been largely abstracted away from SPOT in the long term while also benefitting from AMPLโ€™s inflation-resistant properties. The Ampleforth Monetary Standard represents a decentralized money system entities can adopt trustlessly, offering access to inflation-resistant, scalable money. It addresses the traditional finance (TradFi) penetration risks by creating a self-sustaining ecosystem where increased demand for SPOT escalates the need for AMPL collateralization, fostering growth for both assets. Ampleforth delivers on something that crypto has continously failed to do before - ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฌ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž, ๐๐ž๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐ž๐, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ All made possible through $AMPL and $SPOT โฌ‡๏ธ $AMPL is an immutable, decentralized, commodity - like $BTC - except it is elastic, meaning it adjusts its supply through rebasing. This lets AMPL do some pretty cool things, like maintain longterm unit of account properties. As many know, AMPL tracks a 2019 USD adjusted for CPI inflation, making it inflation-resistant. This makes AMPL the perfect decentralized, scalable collateral needed to back real on-chain money. That on-chain money is $SPOT, which leverages this elasticity (the rebase) through tranching rather than liquidation markets. Tranching just resegments AMPL's rebase risk into high risk and low risk tranches. This is the purpose of the Rollover Vault where holders can stake their AMPL for $stAMPL. Doing so splits your AMPL into the high risk (stAMPL) and low risk $SPOT tranches. Vault holders basically take the hits for $SPOT to keep it secure, but get compensated with increasing market share over the network during times of expansion (like now). As SPOT begins to eat into on-chain trading volumes of DEXs, the incentives to participate in the Vault will be even higher. Any application or exchange that intends to shift away from fiat money and to decentralized money will have a reason to buy and stake $AMPL So $AMPL network steadily appreciates over time, providing the collateral to scale decentralized money in $SPOT. This finally delivers on what #DeFi needs to democratize its volume and finally separate from TradFi fiat. ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ต Give me a follow if you got something out of this @zachariasx_eth ๐Ÿค And check out these accounts to learn more about the Ampleforth monetary system โฌ‡๏ธ @DocumentingAMPL @AmpleforthOrg @SPOTprotocol @ButtonDeFi @Poolside_Party
