Today, 27 September 2026, I am at the Sector 12 Haryana Roadways Bus Stand, Gurugram, with Sumit Tayal, a regular commuter. A huge public transport facility that could genuinely help reduce dependence on cars -yet what we see is gandagi, single-use plastic, dust, stagnant water, bad odour and waste being burnt. I have just checked with a fireman at Bhimnagar fire station and was told that firefighters attended a fire here at 1:48 pm on 26 September 2026. This possibly is 8th waste🔥 in last 4 months within government’s own public transport facility ! Past 4 years we have been alerting authorities : regulators, municipality and Haryana Roadways ! We have almost officially accepted that the departments entrusted with protecting public health and public convenience are not prioritising either. What seems to move us instead? More bhashans to the younger generation about responsibility, nationalism, development and change.
