WHY should charity be VOLUNTARY?
Charity is SACRIFICE, a gift to help others.
YOUR gifts sacrifice YOU.
GOVT gifts sacrifice OTHERS.
NOBODY rightfully sacrifices others.

It's the Republicans' fault that the Democrats will win Congress in the midterms and the White House in 2028. By pursuing the same failed policies of the past, but lying about having done something different to solve the problems those policies created, they opened the door for the Democrats to falsely claim that they are better qualified to solve them. Of course, once elected, they will compound the problems even more than Republicans.
That's why I am even more frustrated with the Republicans than the Democrats. The Republicans are the ones who are supposed to know better. Worse than elected Republicans are those who work in the media. By portraying failed Republican policies as successful, they play right into the hands of Democrats who exploit the resulting frustration to win the votes of independents who might have otherwise voted Republican.

Capitalism lets you start a worker cooperative. If your alternative requires banning everyone else’s arrangement, perhaps your “liberation” is just authoritarianism.

You might never convince someone to become a libertarian through a political debate.
But you might inspire them by being the most generous, independent, compassionate, and principled person they know.
Freedom is contagious. Live it.

A message to young people: Don't take your youth for granted.
As someone approaching 50, I suspect many people my age would trade places with you in a heartbeat, even if it meant surrendering every dollar they've earned, every possession they've accumulated, and everything they've worked to build.
That's how valuable the years ahead of you are.
You may not realize what you have until you've spent enough of it to understand what you can never buy back.
Don't waste it.

How can you claim to care about affordability while dismissing concerns about taxation?
Taxes directly reduce what people can afford. Every dollar taken in taxes is a dollar unavailable for housing, food, savings, or other necessities.
You cannot seriously discuss the cost of living while ignoring the cost of government.
Affordability isn't just about what things cost. It's also about how much of your own money you're allowed to keep.

Things that can help the GOP midterms:
-Admit they were wrong about Iran, the BBB, and Massie
- Restart DOGE on steroids
-Abolish the Department of Education
- tell Bibi we have helped enough

Those of you crying about “Islamic indoctrination” should realize many find “Christian indoctrination” to be child abuse.

The essence of socialism is taxing the productive to fund the unproductive.

Communism’s greatest advantage is that it appeals to emotion. It promises equality, fairness, and a world without suffering, ideals so seductive that its supporters can mistake good intentions for good outcomes.
Capitalism makes a less romantic promise: freedom, opportunity, and prosperity through voluntary exchange, individual responsibility, and the right to keep what you earn.
Communism asks to be judged by what it promises. Capitalism asks to be judged by what it produces.
And therein lies the irony: capitalism must constantly defend its imperfections, while communism is too often excused for its failures.
One is held accountable for reality. The other is defended as an ideal.

I'd rather build a community where people help one another voluntarily than win a thousand arguments about who is the purest libertarian.
Liberty is bigger than a party.
And life is bigger than politics.

The idea that poverty is man-made rather than the default starting point is one the dumbest and most dangerous misconceptions in economics, politics and life.

Awarding Thomas Sowell the Presidential Medal of Freedom is a well-deserved recognition, but it's bittersweet when the administration bestowing the honor pursues policies that contradict the principles he spent his life defending.
Honoring a man's achievements is admirable. Honoring his ideas by putting them into practice would be considerably better.
