I'm so heartbroken for my hometown. I'm so heartbroken that another community has been added to the list of those devastated by senseless gun violence. My family went to that parade every year. They decided against it this year. They are home and safe.
Breaking News: Five people were killed and 16 were hospitalized in the shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, north of Chicago. The police are still searching for the gunman.

It's so upsetting how long it took for this story to be told. If there's any silver lining here, it's that it was told and by such a skilled reporter as @kbernot. There's some sickening behavior thriving in the Chicago beer industry. We need to do better.
