I have done nowhere enough threads to justify this but I thought I'd make a thread of my (good) threads to help me keep track.

One reason I really recommend Bad Blood (finishing a re read after You Can See Everything)- Elizabeth Holmes was going to kill people. She knew she was going to kill people. And she truly didn’t care. The only reason her crimes are mostly financial is that Pathology Blog

You don’t have to study a damn thing, that’s what the jury did.
So it's a mixed verdict. Interesting that an alleged serial rapist would be found Not Guilty of some purported rapes, while Guilty of others. Would need to study each charge in depth before assuming any of them to be well-founded or credibly proven beyond a reasonable doubt

Watched Trump's final address before midterms and while I will never defend something he says, he didn't take Ethan's side, he only said that he thought the show couldn't continue without him.

I’m obsessed with this claim a political party should have a “big tent” in the sense of including into it people who are backing the opposite party! Feels like a parody of the “big tent” trope when we’re talking about a party.
Haley Stevens’ fiancé says he’s received backlash over his decision to vote for Mike Rogers during Fox and Friends interview “What I see online today is a response from a Democratic Party that I thought is meant to be a big tent, that brought me into its tent because I care about disability rights issues.” “I'm a person with a disability, I'm legally blind and I represent tens of thousands of disabled folks across the country, my law firm. 90% of what I read today is attacking me for my disability or how I look.”

Jimmy Carr was on Joe Rogan again today and I thought they must have reuploaded an old episode because Jimmy Carr kept saying same prepared hackneyed deepities he said last time! They still managed to re-blow Joe Rogan's mind every time

Six years ago, Yaxley Lennon harassed Byline writers Mike Stuchbery and Tim Fenton so badly that they eventually left the country. (He also promised to pay me a visit!) Anyone condoning these kinds of tactics doesn't believe in a free press. It's a license for thuggery.
Tommy Robinson has been found guilty - it is my view that the system has, again, treated him unfairly. We live in dark times.

If Democrats have a very good night in November, expect a rush of Republican laws in December to strip powers away from whichever office Dems have won. The playbook most aggressively used by NC's GOP recently, extended to Iowa, for starters, Texas.
It's gettin' real now: Sources tell @quorumreport that the Texas Senate GOP is quietly considering stripping all legislative power from the Lt. Gov. if the Democrat beats Little Gov Patrick: bit.ly/4Bfnnvb #TxLege

Explaining AI risk to an American: imagine a spoiled burger,
A trivial hack set all fridges in a French supermarket chain to 'maximum defrost' overnight, destroying €15-25m worth of food. If someone wants to do automated cyber attacks at scale, just to cause whatever damage they can, we are extremely vulnerable.

This news coming on same day as Anthropic announcement that local AI models running on home appliances, like refrigerators, will be able to self-replicate, should remove any remaining doubts about how AI can take down parts of society pretty quickly.
