Connecting LLMs to external systems is a fragmented mess without a clear standard 🤖. Standardize your interactions by hosting Model Context Protocol servers on Upsun to keep your clients and servers in sync ⚡. It is the smartest way to build context aware tools 💡.

AI made engineers faster. It didn't make teams faster. The constraint was never typing; it was everything around it. The SDLC is being rewritten, and we'd like to rewrite it with you. That's why today, we're introducing Upsun Dispatch. 🚀
Workflow is the primitive, not the agent. Launching September 2026.

AI made engineers faster. It didn't make engineering orgs faster. The bottleneck didn't disappear. It moved into review queues, product specs, and token budgets nobody planned for. Our CEO, @FredPlais, breaks it down in our latest piece 👉 upsun.com/blog/ai-rewriting-…

We just dropped a little teaser for an upcoming film...
The film tells the story of PHP, a language that was never meant to become what it is today, told by the people who shaped it.
Expect the full film later this year.

Most engineering teams already use AI. The real gap is whether the whole org is moving together. @fabpot maps 8 stages of AI maturity, from leadership silence to autonomous agents. See where your team stands 👉 upsun.com/blog/8-stages-ai-e…
There is no question that Individual developers are accelerated by AI. But interesting , it does not mean that the Product & Engineering roadmaps get deliver with the same acceleration, far from it.
Interesting take from @fabpot on this topic
Replying to @fabpot
But this isn't what I see at #Upsun: at the organization level, the challenges are different. So I tried to map a second scale, for AI engineering maturity in orgs: upsun.com/blog/8-stages-ai-e…

Nowadays I barely write code without an LLM, and my OSS productivity has gone through the roof. Look at what I've shipped on #Twig lately (more to come).

Excellent post from @fabpot on the various maturity stages of software development teams building with AI. Super inspired! upsun.com/blog/8-stages-ai-e…
Great marketing from Anthropic
Transparency & honesty always wins when marketing to engineers.
Anthropic shipped a launch chart where a competitor's number is bolded and theirs isn't.
Look at the terminal coding row. GPT-5.5 sits at 78.2%, bolded, beating Opus 4.8's 74.6%. On a slide Anthropic made, for a model Anthropic is selling, on the day they're trying to get you to switch.
Every other lab scrubs the losing row. You only ever see the benchmarks where they win, on the eval harness they tuned for. Anthropic left a loss on the board and bolded the winner.
Read the launch copy and it clicks. The headline feature isn't a benchmark at all. It's "more honesty about its own progress." A model that overstates what it accomplished is the single most expensive failure mode in agentic work, because you stop checking it. You hand off a bug sweep, it reports done, and the bug ships.
So the chart is the product demo. The thing they're actually selling is a system you can trust to tell you when it lost. The 74.6% that someone else beat is worth more to that pitch than a fabricated 80% would be.
Same price as 4.7, by the way. The honesty is free. The cost of not having it shows up three weeks later in production.

Proud of the team who responded to this vulnerability in the most diligent way updating all regions in an afternoon
Over the weekend, we responded to the critical "DirtyFrag" Linux vulnerability (CVE-2026-43284 and CVE-2026-43500) by deploying an emergency kernel patch across all regions.
While our systems are not affected by the RxRPC vulnerability (CVE-2026-43500) as we don't compile that kernel module, we were affected by the IPsec ESP vulnerability (CVE-2026-43284) and needed to apply patches immediately.
To protect your data and minimize exploitation risk during the rollout, we temporarily restricted SSH and deployment access and performed brief service restarts.
While this vulnerability "only" provided root access within affected systems, we recognize that such exploits are typically used as the first step in a chain of attacks, potentially leading to container escapes and broader infrastructure compromise. Given this risk, we chose to err on the side of caution by implementing temporary access restrictions during our update window.
We understand this disruption was inconvenient, and the decision to disable SSH access was not made lightly. However, we believe these swift and decisive actions were essential to safeguarding your systems and data. Our priority is always to maintain the security and integrity of your infrastructure.
All services have now been fully restored, and you can access your projects and deployments as normal. If you're still experiencing any issues, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep your hosting environment secure.

Exciting!!
We're coming out of stealth to announce our cyber defense research lab.
We are exploring data and post-training techniques to build superhuman cyber defenders.
Our mission is to make sure the West always wins.
The last 3 months we've built an automated data pipeline to create training data from 80k CVEs (aka public vulnerabilities).
Our next topic? Post training a model that's better at fixing all the vulnerabilities in your codebase.
Like really fixing them.
Not saying it's secure when there are still ways to exploit them.
Here are the questions that keep us awake at night:
How do you train a model to defend without improving its capabilities to attack? What's the right reward? How to measure the defense capabilities? How do you create synth training data that reproduces real systems? What kind of access do you give an ai cyber defender? How far can you trust it?
If you know insanely good cyber experts (red team, blue team, CTF aficionados) or ML engineers (synth data generation and post-training models), send them my way.
We need to make models far better at defending.
