People don't seem to understand that if police didn't act, we'd have 4,000 of these terrorist grannies out there, not hurting anyone at all. It doesn't bear thinking about.

We were nearly killed two days ago.
Settler-terrorist Tomer Liani bashed my head against the ground repeatedly, then the IDF and police blocked the ambulances and prevented hospitalisation.
All because we caught the settlers locking locking a gate to more than 20 Palestinian communities, trapping entire families.
We exposed Tomer Liani, Shimon Atia and Nevo Nadalski directly committing crimes against humanity in Masafer Yatta, and we were punished by the Israeli police and court for this.
Israeli state terrorism in the West Bank is at its peak, and the authorities are doing everything to keep Palestinian voices silent.

The New York Times just published an editorial admitting something remarkable: Lula da Silva is the most important political leader in the Americas in the 21st century.
For a media outlet that traditionally champions the Western establishment, this is a profound shift. Why is the institutional voice of the liberal world suddenly praising a former factory worker from the Global South?
They aren't doing it out of charity. They are doing it because they are witnessing the undeniable force of the Brazilian working class.
When the algorithms and the polls said he would lose, millions of ordinary people—from the favelas of Rio to the small towns in the Northeast—took to the streets. They didn't just vote for a politician; they mobilized for their own dignity. They voted for public hospitals that actually work, for wages that cover the cost of living, and for a country that belongs to its people.
Lula represents a vision of the world that the old powers are struggling to accept.
He represents a Latin America that is not a backyard, but a sovereign partner. A vision where a nation's wealth—its oil, its rare earth minerals—is used to build local infrastructure and fund social programs, rather than being quietly extracted to feed foreign supply chains. A vision where a country can advocate for peace, stand in solidarity with Palestine, and help build a multipolar world.
The Western establishment is realizing they can no longer dictate Brazil's future through economic pressure, digital censorship, or proxy politicians. They are forced to respect Lula because the people who elected him refuse to be marginalized.
But the true measure of Lula’s importance isn't found in the praise of foreign newspapers.
It is found in the missing finger from a metalworking press. It is found in the millions who organized digitally to bypass censorship. It is found in a working class that looked at impossible odds and decided to build a better world.
When the world's most powerful institutions have to acknowledge a metalworker, you know the old order is changing.
And it is the people who are leading the way.

New Action Campaign: Have you noticed how a UN-commissioned finding of genocide turned into a claim? This was Sky News's headline on Monday night:
"UN report claims Israel 'genocide' in Gaza has continued after ceasefire"
The UN commission of inquiry made no claim. It investigated cases, applied the law and reported its findings to the General Assembly:
- Israel is still committing genocide in Gaza. It has murdered 1,431 people after the 'ceasefire', at least 300 of them children.
- In the occupied West Bank, Israel committed crimes against humanity, extermination, torture, rape and persecution. It has murdered 254 Palestinians since October 2023.
- Israel answered neither of the commission's two requests for information.
Then the media got to work. We counted every word of 15 "news" reports:
- Israel's denial got 1,178 words. Palestinians got 46, all from one diplomat defending the Palestinian Authority. Not one report quoted a Palestinian about what Israel did.
- Haaretz, an Israeli paper, gave the findings more words than any of the 15: 840, or 84% of its report. Sky gave them 407 (58%), The New York Times 532 (61%), Reuters 319 and The Independent 312.
- Sky wrote "claims" or "alleges" about the findings nine times, even about the UN's own death toll. In Sky's report Palestinians "died", while Israelis "were killed" in a "terror attack" it called "the atrocity".
- Sky gave 21% of its report to Israel's denial and to doubts about the commission. No outlet outside Israel gave them more.
- Reuters never told its readers that the commission found crimes against humanity. CBC ran the same copy.
- Not one report said Israel had refused to answer the commission.

That story about Google killing hundreds of thousands of trees in Finland for its data center project is such a perfect microcosm of what capitalism is doing to our world.
Recent mass media headlines are saying the tech giant "illegally" cut down "250,000" trees, but both claims paint an inaccurate picture of what actually happened. Google killed 400,000 trees (250,000 near a town called Muhos and another 150,000 near the village of Otanmäki), and unless the company's executives actually wind up going to prison for this, their actions cannot properly be described as "illegal".
I don't know who first coined the saying "If the penalty is a fine, then it's legal for rich people," but it certainly applies here. The Finnish Licensing and Supervision Authority has reportedly ordered Google to suspend all “measures that significantly change the environment," saying it will "consider enforcement proceedings and fines" if the megacorporation does not comply. Google's parent company Alphabet has a net worth of around four trillion dollars. Whatever paltry penalties Finland might impose for these ecocidal actions, it won't have any meaningful effect on Google.
Giant corporations do this shit all the time. They calculate that the fines incurred by their abusive actions will be dwarfed by the massive profits they generate, issue fake apologies as needed, and leave it to their armies of lawyers to minimize the damage. That's why the Sackler family is still worth billions despite all the fines Purdue Pharma was slapped with while creating the US opiate epidemic.
A 2017 Harvard study titled “The Opioid Epidemic: Fixing a Broken Pharmaceutical Market" contains the following paragraph:
"Although civil claims and criminal charges were brought against Purdue and its executives, the resulting penalties paled in comparison to extended-release oxycodone profits. In May 2007, the company and its president, chief counsel, and former chief medical officer pled guilty to falsely marketing extended-release oxycodone as 'less addictive, less subject to abuse and diversion, and less likely to cause tolerance and withdrawal than other pain medications.' As part of the plea bargain, Purdue agreed to pay the federal government $600 million and 27 states $20 million. The three executives agreed to $34.5 million in fines but avoided jailtime. By contrast, Purdue has earned an estimated $31 billion in total revenues from extended-release oxycodone since its launch. Rather than deterring fraudulent marketing, the penalties simply became a cost of doing business."
A cost of doing business.
That's how things work under capitalism. The law primarily exists not to protect people or the environment, but to protect the interests of capital. If you destroyed a Google data center you'd probably be charged as a terrorist and spend decades in prison, but Google can destroy the natural world around you and get off with a finger wag and a symbolic fine. If you stole millions of dollars from your employer you'd go to prison for grand larceny, but if your employer steals millions from its employees you need to win a class action lawsuit to get back what they stole from you.
Proponents of capitalism often pretend they support minimal government intervention in civilian affairs, but their entire model is at all times propped up by state power using force to protect the haves from the have-nots at every level of our society. Corporations are free to destroy the environment, destroy your health, rob you, exploit you, and manipulate your government to their advantage, and if you ever take action to stand up to this world-devouring onslaught, the state will lock you in a cage.
In school we are taught that that the law exists to protect ordinary people from bad people, but that's not true at all. Under capitalism, the law exists to protect the very worst among us from everyone else. That's why we are seeing our planet being turned into dust and ashes for no reason other than shareholder profit.
It's an insane system, and it needs to end. These freaks are feeding our entire biosphere into the woodchipper.

And here in the UK - Reform are plunging in the polls!

Yes Brazil! A victory for democracy! And such a close call for a slide back into dictatorship 🥳🙈🥳🇧🇷 #Lula

Lula vows to change Brazilian Politics to empower the people and make sure things are never the same again and US backed scum like Bolsonaro can never rig the system.
(With English Subtitles)
A global authoritarian right (“Alt Reich”) is tightening its grip. Trump, Abelardo de la Espriella, Milei, Noboa, and Mulino now lead a bloc of hard-right governments across the Americas, and even the UK Labour Party has shifted sharply right. And so we watch, powerless, as Trump and his tech bros meddle in Brazil's election. They’ll profit from the rape of the country’s globally vital natural resources. Trump himself has made billions in his presidency. The irony is that the people who vote for these monsters often pay the highest price. #Brasil #Brazil #Lula #Bolsonaro
