IT'S INSANE HOW SO MANY PEOPLE NEED ZERO PROOF TO BELIEVE A LIE BUT NEED ENDLESS PROOF IN ORDER TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH.

Your middle class workers are heavily taxed, struggling to keep up with the cost of living, and earning wages that barely stretch to the end of the month. Yet, at the top of the public sector, salaries are being benchmarked against international standards. What kind of economic logic is that? Make it make sense! How can a country truly progress when the people at the bottom and in the middle are constantly squeezed, while those at the top continue to enjoy substantial compensation packages? The money is being concentrated at the top instead of creating a fairer system where ordinary Jamaicans can live with dignity. The Bible wasn’t wrong when it spoke about the poor getting poorer while the rich get richer. It is always bread crumbs for the ordinary public sector worker, until you climb to the top of the food chain. And then you have the audacity to bash teachers for greed when they demand better wages and working conditions? But what about three pensions? Is that not greed, too? Or does the definition of greed suddenly change when you reach the top? You cannot demand sacrifice from the ordinary Jamaican while making exceptions for the privileged. If fiscal discipline is necessary, it must apply across the board. You cannot preach restraint at the bottom while practising excess at the top. Uno come outta me face

there is something deeply unsettling about a society that keeps telling people to be more resilient while making the conditions of ordinary life progressively harder to withstand.

People on this app are lying.
Either STATIN data is a lie or the people on this app are lying. The way yall talk about money - most of you must be taking home at least 450K after taxes.

It doesn’t sit well with me that govt of this small island of 3M+ people is going to sit and tell us that countries 10xTimes the size of us with a better overall economy, they are going to use the pay scale of those countries to justify the pay scale of these positions.

Jamaica has one of the lowest wage structures in the region with 70% of workers earning below the income tax threshold. Yet our political class ranks among the highest-paid in the world. If you ask what tangible results they delivered to justify those salaries it's hard to find
