This discourse is so depressing man. 1) Hetfield is a moron so I agree with him that he should keep his mouth shut, but also 2) many “fans” are just so desperate to avoid engaging with lyrics that they pretend Metallica has never been political, what a sad way to listen to music
Metallica frontman James Hetfield recently called out artists who turn their concerts into political rallies, saying:

The trailers all had Call Me by Blondie in them and it is jarring how much that song completely deflates the final fight and i just think how much better that final fight could’ve been with Call Me over it
So I got my Supergirl steel book and decided to watch it while I organized my movies and I was thinking maybe I was a little too hard on it when I saw it in the theater so I figured I would give it another chance cause I didn’t hate it but you know I gave it a pretty low score and a couple of people didn’t like that.
I definitely stand by my score, and one part I remember distinctly not liking was the final fight scene and how much I hated this song choice lmfao.
Some weird girly pop cover of Jimmy Eat World’s the middle, I kind of get what they were going for but overall it really really took the excitement and bite out of the fight. As I’m watching the fight and hearing the song, it just started pissing me off more and more, especially considering how good James Gunn has been at picking music. I know this wasn’t his movie per se but this could’ve really used once over from him. Anyways, it’s just a random rant about this movie.
