"Visual General Intelligence: A White Paper"
is now on arXiv! arxiv.org/abs/2608.25924
We've discussed:
- What is Visual Intelligence?
- Can we develop it toward General Intelligence (VGI)?
In the VGI white paper, we bring together diverse perspectives on Visual Intelligence and discuss how intelligence grounded in visual modalities and experiences could develop toward General Intelligence.
Beyond proposing a single definition of VGI, we introduce, propose, and discuss different perspectives on what Visual Intelligence could be and how we could develop it toward General Intelligence.
This paper is a starting point for a broader discussion on the future of Visual Intelligence.
Many thanks to all the great co-authors!

Self-Supervised Learning of Structured Dynamics from Videos
TL;DR: Structured Dynamics Model decomposes video changes into primary and residual motion. Built on frozen DINOv2 features, it separates camera and object motion with weak supervision and outperforms prior representations on multiple motion tasks.

We've released the CVPR 2026 Report!
hirokatsukataoka.net/temp/pr…
Compiled during CVPR through a collaboration among LIMIT.Lab, cvpaper.challenge, and the Visual Geometry Group (VGG), this report provides meta-level insights into the key trends, research directions, emerging themes, and discussions that shaped this year's conference.
CVPR2026 Report is now publicly available!!
It nicely covers the latest trends across SSL, generative models, robot learning, and many other topics 😄
Big thanks to the authors for putting this together so quickly!!

Web videos as scalable source data!!
“Video” was one of the big keywords I kept hearing at CVPR 2026. I strongly feel that video will become a key data source in the next few years!
Not in the old sense of simple action recognition, but as scalable supervision for vision models
If you are interested in research collaboration, please feel free to reach out to LIMIT.Lab!!

Finally, I would like to thank the authors for putting together this excellent report so quickly!!
