I’ve got a quick rant about AI on Roblox, I would make it an article but I don’t have the time for that rn: If you are feeling demotivated by all of the people talking about how they're using AI to make games on Roblox, then here's my take on it. I think just like how YouTube became the thing to democratize video, and Steam in some ways was the platform to democratize making games (Indie vs. AAA), AI is democratizing game development on Roblox, making it possible for everyday people to create games that would have previously required technical experience. But I think a lot of the people that post on Twitter talking about one-shotting games and releasing tons of games really quickly are the average. We're seeing all the slop that people are creating with AI on Roblox right now, but I think you should give it only a couple more months until you start seeing the most professional developers on the platform creating games that they could never have dreamed of without spending hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars developing them in the past. I truly believe that, just like how anyone with a camera could make a YouTube video, that is now the case with Roblox games. But the biggest YouTubers out there are who they are because of their ability to create truly innovative content. So, sure, the average person can make a game, but if you are not a good game designer, then you’re likely not going to be the next Nosniy. The games that have been on the platform the longest; the Flee the Facility’s, Creatures of Sonaria’s, and Adopt Me’s of the world exist and have been popular because of the game design care that was put into them. AI now allows the best developers to create even larger, more creative games. But hey, I could be wrong.
