I heard a quote from @chriswillx on Joe Rogan recently that I can’t stop thinking about:
“Americans used to have first line of cocaine level enthusiasm.”
Offensive? Probably.
But the point hits.
That almost irrational level of energy, urgency, optimism and willingness to GO seems to be disappearing.
Declining birth rates don’t scare me nearly as much as the decline of the American entrepreneurial spirit.
Entrepreneurship requires a little irrational confidence.
You have to believe you can build something that doesn’t exist yet.
You have to be energized by the unknown.
You have to be willing to risk money, reputation, comfort and sometimes years of your life on an idea that may fail.
And when it does fail?
Learn. Adjust. Go again.
I see fewer and fewer people who seem wired this way.
I can name only a handful in my own life who carry that level of intensity...
When I hosted my podcast, I had several guests from across the pond talk about how differently entrepreneurship and failure were viewed there. Their perspective was that a failed business could become a permanent mark against you and not worth it.
America always felt different.
We celebrated the builder.
We respected the risk taker.
We admired the person crazy enough to try.
Failure wasn’t the end of the story. It was part of it.
That mindset has created companies, industries, jobs and unimaginable wealth in this country.
If we lose the enthusiasm to start, risk, fail and start again, we’re losing something much bigger than entrepreneurship.
We’re losing part of the American spirit.
QuickBooks Payroll… help me understand this.
You withdraw a small business’s payroll taxes BEFORE they’re due to the IRS or state.
You hold the cash.
The business earns no interest.
And apparently, we can’t opt out.
But here’s the part that really gets me:
The SMALL BUSINESS is still ultimately responsible for those taxes.
If QuickBooks fails to make the deposit, the IRS can still come after the business for the taxes, penalties and interest.
So QuickBooks gets control of our cash before it’s due…
While we keep the liability if something goes wrong.
And across millions of businesses, that’s potentially a massive amount of money being held.
Who benefits from that float?
Because it sure isn’t the small business carrying the risk.
@QuickBooks @HawleyMO @GovMikeKehoe @RepAnnWagner
@grok how much money does Intuit stand to make withholding cashflow from small businesses?
Has @SouthwestAir ever considered measurements to sit in a seat like they measure carry ons?
You pay for legroom, but the guy in the middle rows arms don’t fit in his seat.
Frustrating morning, then my daughter sent me a text…”Don’t be a fucking bitch”
A daughter is the greatest gift a man can have.
Just witnessed a grown man plucking nose hairs with steel pliers in his truck.
No mirror.
No hesitation.
No concern for human pain or the optics of a passer by.
Just raw commitment.
Gentlemen, this is why we’re built differently.
Manhood goes hard.

@SouthwestAir gate agents are assholes.
Just instructed all my employees to cancel @SouthwestAir flights. Zero company dollars will go towards disrespecting my people.

@SouthwestAir preboard is the equivalent of Somalian Learing Centers.
Absolutely no one overseeing this cares how much fraud is taking place.
#oilfieldX If you consume OCTG and don’t follow Cody, you’re a fool. Too many assume there’s plenty of pipe out there for demand and pricing will come down when Iran is done…this weekend…or next weekend

US imports of OCTG casing license data
South Korea has approx 30,000 metric tons that was suppose to come into the USA but is now late
My opinion of @SouthwestAir and its desire for me to give its employees kudos while they treat me like shit.
Why would anyone take a cruise. It’s like the public bus system of the seas. simplywall.st/stocks/us/cons…

The Epstein Files?
Release all.
Sort through them.
Round up the suspects.
Liberal use of polygraphs and “enhanced interrogation” techniques.
Public Executions.
The slow kind.

We see your post about the pedo getting released but grok tells me you’ve been quiet on the Epstein files. When are you and @martyrmade getting back together?
See reply for receipt.
