Never before have I been so curious to follow a footnote in a Capuchin document Francis was able to integrate all the dimensions of his personality in a harmonious and creative way (5) (5) Cf. S. FREUD, Civilization and Its Discontents, Norton & Company, New York 2010, 237-238.

I was just helping the representative from @LeMoyne find parking for our parish high school college fair. I said may the prayers of the North American martyrs bring you much interest and I also of course bragged about my own Jesuit education.

Happy and encouraged this morning to open the bollettino of the Holy See and read that my teachers and very good influences Khaled Anatolios and Boyd Taylor Coolman have been appointed to the International Theological Commission.

That reminded of the 'small world' moment when two people in RCIA realized they already sort of knew each other from the @tacobell parking lot. "Wait. You're DRKKNGHT?"

After Mass a little kid wanted show me his Lego @Iron_Man. So I asked him about the red car here in the neighborhood with the license plate TNYSTRK. Did he think that was Iron Man's car? The kid was pretty confident that it was.

I'm reminded of my friend John. When we were in college it was cool to have a hybrid major of the form, x based y. E.g. Philosophy based Poli Sci, Mathematics based Physics, etc. So John made up one up that he used to tell people he was doing: Classics based Child Development.

Great news this morning: my (biological) brother Ben has passed the bar exam. He's one of your rarer multi-classing characters: classicist-lawyer.

[The Divine Heart is] an abyss of joy in which all of us can immerse our sorrows. It is an abyss of lowliness to counteract our foolishness, an abyss of mercy for the wretched, an abyss of love to meet our every need. ~ St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (Office of Readings)

à propos of nothing one of my great-grandfathers passed the bar without going to law school and became a lawyer. (In fact, he was expelled from Harvard.) My mom recovered a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher that called him a "young man of fair moral character."

Do Dominicans have to cover their hoods with an amice when they say Mass? Just intra-mendicant curiosity from a Capuchin who feels like he's the only who does it.

Try, my daughters, to bear in mind that God does not pay great attention to all the trifling matters which occupy you, and do not allow these things to make your spirit quail and your courage fade, for if you do that you may lose many blessings. ~ St. Teresa of Ávila

This is why it was cool of LTP to publish a separate rite of committal book; when it rains at the cemetery (like in the movies) it's not your whole funeral ritual that gets wet.
