The more I learn about Effective Altruism the more I realize how inhumane, utilitarian, and childish this ideology is.
It's an exceptionally foolish and dystopian worldview that reduces all life and resources to spreadsheet mathematics. Parentage, friendships, ancestry, familial bonds, communal bonds, and all manner of social and spiritual relationships that define our individual humanity are stripped away to justify caring more about a population of shrimp than our own children.
It's bioleninism combined with the heat map meme turned into a warped ideology.
If EA is the new frontier of philosophy, then philosophy as a field has been alarmingly and thoroughly colonized by childish midwits hellbent on using AI to usher onto humanity a dystopia ruled by Plato's philosopher kings, but instead of philosophers, we have disgenic tech bros seated on the throne.
We have way too many retards in positions of influence and power.
EA AI safetyism increasingly looks like Marxism-Leninism for the algorithmic age.
The old vanguard claimed privileged knowledge of the inevitable course of History. The new one claims privileged knowledge of the probabilistic course of Humanity.
Both use an elaborate intellectual framework to reach the same political conclusion: a small group of enlightened people must constrain everyone else for their own good.
That has never lead to anything except monumental human suffering.
