Nearly six months later, this thesis has played out. When I published this on April 1, I highlighted the 20Y as having room to reprice higher. 20Y is now around 5.6%. No single catalyst. Duration risk, inflation uncertainty, fiscal supply, and term premium were enough.

Very typical Regime 2 behavior both last Friday and today. Last Friday was the PML break returning straight to Thursday's range mid-point. Today is a break above PMH without looking back (new highs, discovery).

Today was an example of GEX being useless, but our R4-VC setup based on SPY price action and extrinsic value z-score calling the perfect short.

I’ve put together a free visual guide to the core Foxchase Trading setups, including $SPY / $SPX price action, key levels, and extrinsic value z-score behavior. foxchasetrading.com/setups/

And this is the perfect example of why you cannot trade off GEX alone. Too many retail traders think GEX tells them whether to be bullish or bearish. It doesn’t. It’s just one tool. You still need to understand market dynamics to know when to have a bullish vs. bearish bias.
No trades for me today. Missed the move down after 11:30 am and didn't want to chase it. You won't catch every move and that is okay. Here's what I was watching for today. Came into the day with a very bullish bias and that's what kept me from taking any downside trades today. SPY is currently set up in a large bull flag on the daily chart that broke out last week. With all of the negative news in the headlines to start off the morning I knew the chances of follow through would be slim, but I still held my ground on it. Before the open we had a massive positive gamma level at 757 with over 220M in cumulative volume that I wanted to target for the day. I knew that if SPY could hold above the flip zone at 752 we had higher chances of making a run to 757. Here's why: SPY was sitting in a positive gamma regime to start the day with that massive positive gamma level at 757. In a positive regime like this we see mean reverting price action. This is due to the style of hedging that is taking place by the liquidity providers in the market. These market makers and dealers are forced to hedge their options positions when the underlying price of SPY moves to stay delta neutral. This is their business model. When they are long gamma, they have to buy shares into price dips and sell shares into price rallies. This is what causes that mean reversion and it pulls price toward massive positive gamma levels on the board. When SPY opened, we chopped all morning. Once price was able to secure itself into the negative gamma regime below it was all downhill from there. This type of regime forces dealers to hedge with the direction of the market which accelerates market moves. Bias kept me out today and that is totally okay with me. This won't be the last time it happens, and it certainly won't be the last time we get solid movement in the market like this. Cash is always a position if your setup doesn't present itself. Gamma Exposure remains the most powerful tool for 0dte traders in 2026. If you can learn to read a gamma map you can learn to make money trading options in this market. @ITMatrixHQ

I previously promoted GEXStream in my 0DTE options book because I thought it was useful. But silencing paying subscribers for asking reasonable questions about data vendors, licensing, and redistribution is not a good look. Seems we truly need a Yelp for GEX providers.

The Small Account Series is nearing its end. Next week we will likely be wrapping it up at $25k (the old PDT rule threshold). It has also served as a live application of the framework I recently wrote about in my book, 0DTE: Regimes, Volatility, and Execution.

A visual of the Foxchase 0DTE setup deployment framework for small-account growth. Not every trade deserves the same size. Higher conviction can justify more size. Lower conviction should mean less size, not wider bracket orders.

An absolute perfect Regime 2 bullish trend day today. All signals pointed to it. Extrinsic z-score vol-crush pattern, day type classification, GEX, and immediate R2 PMH breakout at open.

Today was the perfect example of how predominantly negative/mixed NDX GEX does not mean bearish price but simply amplified volatility and less clean moves. The overall direction was determined by our Regime 3 behavior and a hold above PMH.

Regime 3 often means "get long immediately at open" to target yesterday's range. The exception is if there is a flush below PML, which is much less likely.
