We've been telling @BostonCollege to divest since 2013.
They should have listened.

Smoky morning. In NYC it’s a whopping 100+ ug/m3. And even in Boston where it *looks* much better outside it’s still above 30.
For reference:
—> current health-based limit is 12
—> stricter proposed standard is 8
—> indoors at Harvard w upgraded filtration? < 5

Read the account of a trans student at BC who is not allowed to live in housing of her gender identity.
BC’s policies continue to cause harm to trans students in a multitude of ways.
In 2023 it’s not just unacceptable it’s infuriating.

Is it getting hotter? You be the judge. ➡️ Global heat records in June continually being broken across the world as the global average temperature rises.

A huge thank you to @tiziana_dearing for asking about divestment and @BostonCollege’s sanctions against CJBC during yesterday’s @BCSchillerInst event! ❤️🌍
BC needs to divest from fossil fuel and stop punishing student activists for demanding action on climate change.
During this time @BostonCollege invested in and profited off of companies responsible for these deaths.

.@BostonCollege is investing money in these criminals right now.
Why let a little human suffering and destruction of the planet get in the way of making money.

"Between 2010 and 2020, 15 times more people died from floods, droughts and storms in very vulnerable regions including parts of Africa, South Asia and Central and South America, than in other parts of the world."
This is what BC is still investing in. bbc.com/news/science-environ…

All the respect in the world to these indigenous activists. ❤️
BREAKING: @SenAmyKlobuchar was just confronted at a fundraising event by a group of water protectors who SHUT DOWN her speech.
When faced with Indigenous youth questioning her inaction on Line 3, she rolled her eyes, tried to interrupt, and eventually fled the stage. #StopLine3
On social media @BostonCollege pretends to care about climate change & activism.
In real life BC has shut down our protests, had BCPD detain our members, called Newton police & threatened to call the state police on off campus protests, & sent under cover cops to our events.
