Part of my report to the DG NCAA, about the flight disruptions/compliance records of major airlines in Nigeria, during the DGCA's meeting with some of the airlines.
Thank you Lasisi for your Health Advocacy, you spoke well however your mother’s health was not somethg that happened suddenly according to you 2years ago
Your mother illness started in October of 2007 and She passed in March of 2022 according to what you shared on Chude’s podcast. You said, towards the end of Her illness, “She was already tired and wanted everything to end because of the debilitating pain. In addition to multiple hospitalizations and medical expenses Her prognosis was not looking good 😞😞😞
You were raised in Offa and you graduated from the University of Ilorin before you moved down to Lagos. Was there a time your Parents relocated to Lagos?
Did the Lagos Healthcare system failed to provide adequate care for your mom during the span of Her chronic illness that included 3 strokes, chronic pain, multiple procedures and immobility or She was never treated in Lagos?
The passion you exhibited on your recent podcast on the health Care System was missing 2yrs ago when you spoke extensively about your mom health issues with Chude…what changed?

There is, therefore, absolutely ZERO reason for any domestic airline to fail to perform above par. It is a betrayal of Mr. President's trust for any domestic airline to operate with impunity, inefficiency, and a sense of entitlement.
Look, we have seen airlines come and go. History is a proper guide for the future. No airline in Nigeria is bigger than what their predecessors, like Okada, used to be. Yet, the top dogs still went under (not a thing of joy). It shows that, no matter how cantankerous any airline tries to become in stamping advantage, it can never be above the natural laws of life.
In due course, everybody catches up on the shenanigans, and all of the gangsterism, ad hominem, defensiveness, and media manipulation will no longer deceive the people.
Where you refuse to respect the authority of the Authority, you will bow to the will and frustrations of the people.
I say these things here today because I was given a job to do; protect consumers (including the airlines), and protect the image and effectiveness of the NCAA.
I am not one to shrink in the face of challenges. The Honourable Minister appointed us so that he does not need to pretend to be superman. He cannot be everywhere all of the time. He cannot see everything; he does not need to. This is why we are here.
So. If His Excellency, the President of Nigeria has supported you; if the Honourable Minister has stood in the gap for you, ensuring that domestic operators get all if the support they need; if the DGCA has simplified approvals and processes, and you think that providing inefficient services, playing to the gallery, disrespecting the regulations, and playing victim is the reward they deserve, then it speaks volumes to who you are, rather than anything else.
Do we not want a world-class industry servicing Nigerians? Is that not why Festus Keyamo fought against the monopolisation of the industry by selfish elements? Should that victory not become the foundation upon which Nigerians enjoy the best possible service?
From a consumer protection perspective, the Authority has supported domestic operators as best as possible. Going forward, there will be a barrage of sanctions and other stiff measures against ANY airline that fails to comply with the regulations.
There will be no sentiments and no sacred cows. Support is not a crime, and calm, measured understanding is not cowardice.
If an airline has its machines AOG, it is instructed to cut down the size of its operations to avoid causing excessive, avoidable pain to passengers. It goes without saying.
If a delay hits two hours, passengers MUST be given light refreshment. On the six-hour mark, passengers are entitled to a proper meal. This is non-negotiable.
If that delay lasts until 10pm, accomodation should be provided, except where the passenger resides in that city; even that is subject to certain factors.
This is not rocket science. Your personal business is not a favour to anybody. It is business. You should not invest billions, make people trust you, and decide that you will run that business only how it pleases you. You are not above the regulations today, and will not be, tomorrow.
This is fair advise to everyone. Do not become a security risk to passengers. Provide information on time. Do not act in ways that negatively affect the reputations of Mr. President, the Honourable Minister, and the DGCA.
All they have done is provide the necessary support.
May Nigeria be blessed now and always.

Years later, the cop's account of who killed Tupac and Biggie still holds up as remarkably accurate. The man detailed the whole incident as it happened.
The jury has found Duane "Keffe D" Davis guilty in the murder of Tupac Shakur, 30 years after the rapper was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding him guilty of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang. The 63-year-old faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison.

“CHEAPER FUEL MUST MEAN CHEAPER TRANSPORT FARES”: PRESIDENT TINUBU, GOVERNORS MOVE TO CUT TRANSPORT FARES NATIONWIDE
I am pleased with my discussion with the Governors’ Forum this afternoon. The Governors have, on their own initiative, resolved to take immediate measures to bring down the cost of transportation in their states, with a strong focus on leveraging the cost benefits of CNG and electric vehicles.
The Federal Government is already investing significantly in this energy transition. Through the Presidential CNG Initiative, over 120,000 vehicles have been converted nationwide, with more than 100,000 additional conversion kits in the works. At the same time, we continue to expand conversion centres and refuelling infrastructure nationwide.
The Federal Government, through the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund, is currently financing more than 100 gas projects across the country, including 15 CNG mother stations and 86 daughter stations. In May, I commissioned four of these projects in Lagos, Abuja and Owerri, including a 15-station refuelling network in Lagos and an Abuja facility that can serve 1,000 cars and tricycles and 50 trucks and buses a day.
I have also directed the additional rollout of another 500 CNG refuelling stations nationwide in addition to the 500 stations ordered earlier in the year by the Fund, bringing the programme to 1,000 stations across the country.
Intra-state transport is where Nigerians feel the cost most directly, and it is where the states hold the levers. I am encouraged that our Governors are moving to bring these benefits closer to the people they serve.
We have agreed to set up a joint Federal and State committee to begin implementing these measures immediately. A vehicle running on CNG spends 60 to 80 per cent less on fuel than one running on petrol.
From October 1, our goal is that Nigerians begin to partake in those savings through lower transport fares.
We have agreed that cheaper fuel should result in cheaper fares!
Each tier of government must keep doing its part and work together for the benefit of every Nigerian.
Nigeria First.

Fascinating. You have Black people like Michelle Obama who refuse to step foot back on Princeton’s campus bc of their mistreatment, and then you have whatever this is…
New Padres owner and artist Kwanza Jones tells T.I. how Princeton University IGNORED her for MONTHS when she tried to donate, until she dropped a massive $20 MILLION donation and they suddenly came asking HER how to find more donors like her 🤯💰
She went on to become the FIRST Black woman to have a building named after her at Princeton 🔥
“I reached out to Princeton asking how I could donate toward a residential college or dorm. No one got back to me… Then I gave $20 million… and they asked, ‘How do we find more people like you?’”

"I paid $2500 for power — two weeks later I'm still out of power."
We went to Indiana, where thousands of people still haven't had the power switched back on.
In Gary, Maryville, and Hammond schools are closed, families are throwing away spoiled food, people are driving to Illinois to get ice for insulin.
Power rates are higher than ever, but people in the region are being put through hell just two years after Blackstone bought into their power company.
Now residents are fighting back against the utility company -- filing a class action lawsuit against it for negligence.

On Tuesday the 15th, my journey from Onitsha in Anambra State to Anyigba in Kogi State by road once again underscored my consistent appeal for all tiers of government to prioritize the repair and completion of existing road infrastructure, rather than launching new projects that may not be completed anytime soon, further adding to the growing list of abandoned projects scattered all over the country.
The journey, which should normally take around three and a half hours, took us over seven hours. The route through Obollo Afor, Otukpa Branch, Ejule, and Anyigba was exhausting. On the return trip, we took an alternate route via Ogugu and Enugu-Ezike, departing Kogi State around 2:00 p.m. and not arriving back until about 9:00 p.m. – all for a meeting that lasted just 30 minutes.
This is my travel experience across the country this year. In the first quarter, I had cause to travel from Calabar to Uyo, a trip that should take about an hour, but it ended up taking four hours. I travelled from Port Harcourt to Bayelsa, thinking I would use the East-West Road to Warri, but it became a treacherous journey. Warri to Benin was a similar experience.
In August, I travelled from Abuja to Kaduna, where I spent over two hours on the Kaduna bypass alone.
The Onitsha to Benin route was no different.
My recent trip from Benin to Auchi and back was excruciating, and one cannot help but wonder. I know these things cannot be fixed overnight, but my appeal is that there should be total commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Nigerian travelling public, rather than launching new projects.
The resources should be directed toward improving the existing roads and easing the burden on commuters. -PO
