Odd that a story like this should appear only in foreign media.
I've been waiting for Canadian MSM to explore how CF veterans feel about the contempt in which they are held by the Trump admin. Good to see someone's done the work.

🚔💔 Mark Long spent his career in the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police, then spent the years after it telling the truth about what the job takes.
PTSD cost him the work, the purpose, and nearly his life. On July 7, 2017, he sat on a bench at his kids’ school and decided he was done. He got help. Then he built Cracked Armour in 2018, and later Returning Warriors Ranch in Nova Scotia, so the next cop, firefighter, corrections officer, soldier, or veteran wouldn’t have to sit on that bench alone.
He spoke about the crack in the armour on purpose. So someone still on shift, still in uniform, still pretending they’re fine, would know they’re not the only one.
Mark died suddenly. The work doesn’t die with him.
If you’re carrying it, say it out loud. Call someone. I’ve Got Your 6.
Rest easy, brother. ⚫️🔵⚫️

Trump UN speech was brutal. Crude. Send them to Hell? Who talks like that? He believes he is without the legal and political constraints of our democracy. A dangerous man. History will excoriate those who allowed this to happen.

I found watching Trump’s UN speech today deeply depressing. It is a matter of national shame and humiliation that he is our president. Every country in the world, friend and foe alike, sees we are governed by a vainglorious fool.

A few reflections heading home from the Bills game tonight as a Canadian. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🏈
There is a lot of noise in the Canada-U.S. relationship right now. Trade fights, tariffs, political rhetoric and plenty of frustration on both sides of the border.
But then you spend a night in Buffalo.
Canadians and Americans tailgating together. Singing both anthems. Cheering for the same team. Talking football, families and life. Nobody asking who won the latest political argument.
It is a good reminder that our relationship is much bigger than whoever happens to occupy political office at any particular moment.
We share communities, businesses, friendships, families, sports and a border that has connected us for generations.
Governments will disagree. We should stand up for our respective interests when they do.
But we shouldn’t lose sight of each other in the process.
Tonight felt like a reminder of that.
Break tables, not relationships. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

Mark Carney: "To our American friends, we will always be neighbours and Canada will continue to be the U.S.'s most important partner in many key areas. When those opportunities return, Canada will be an even better partner, stronger, more resilient, more independent, ready to advance our mutual economic and security interests."
