Forme Tour

Not sure what's more impressive, the gracious letter a teenage @Wyndham_Clark wrote to @PGATOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem about his Junior PLAYERS experience or the fact Clark had his own letterhead.

Promoters said it was Fuzzy Zoeller joining Lee, Jack and Arnold at the 1986 Skins Game. Nice try. You can't slip Dean Martin past us.

I think legendary cartoonist Mel Keefer needed a do-over here. Billy Casper is downright skinny, Gay Brewer looks like Babe Ruth and while there was always the "fat Jack" period of the Golden Bear's life, he was also never Haystacks Calhoun.

Late, great logos we love, dual-language edition. Royal Canadian Golf Association prior to the @GolfCanada rebrand.

Late, great logos we love. Greater Milwaukee Open. Perhaps the all-time example of, "Oh, that's a logo for a golf tournament and not an art festival?"

Another reason why the @FormeTour was important, giving up-and-comers, guys you knew little about, a place to play when COVID had taken its toll on professional golf.

At long last, @PGATOUR golf makes its triumphant return to The Motherland. pgatour.com/article/news/lat…

A vintage tournament program from . . . 30 years ago: Bell Canadian Open. Nick Price won in 1994, with 1993 winner David Frost featured on that year's cover.

Every day, fans sent Arnold Palmer items to autograph. A few times each week, Palmer dutifully signed everything. Even when people didn't provide envelopes with pre-paid postage, his office staff mailed each autographed item back, at Palmer's expense.

That time at a Tuesday junior clinic at the 2009 @APinv when a kid raised his hand and asked @BradFaxon "Are you @TonyHawk?" Also, this letter:

Chi Chi Rodríguez. An amazing career and the only @PGATOUR golfer to appear on the cover of a Devo album. Rest in peace, Juan.

Know Your Obscure Pro Golfers: Bob Beauchemin. @PGATOUR starts: 13. Best Finish: T50, 1981 Hawaiian Open. Later, he became commissioner of the Canadian Tour (1985-93). Please don't let the photo's vertical line flaw distract from the magnificence of the collars.

Contrary to popular belief, John Daly was not—repeat, not—a standard bearer at the 1988 Canon Sammy Davis Jr.-Greater Hartford Open.

Know Your Obscure Pro Golfers. Andy Dillard. @PGATOUR starts: 84. Best Finish: T5, 1986 Hawaiian Open. Oh, and this little nugget: He is the only player to begin a U.S. Open with six consecutive birdies. Dillard eventually finished 17th at the 1992 Open at Pebble Beach.

Late, Great Logos We Love: 1996-2002 as the Air Canada Championship. Surrey, British Columbia.

It's @MarchMadnessMBB. So, shout out to @BoilerBall guard Joe Campbell, who played 57 hoop games, won the 1955 NCAA individual golf title then turned to @PGATOUR golf, where he won three times: '61 Beaumont Open, '62 Baton Rouge Open and '66 Tucson Open.
