As germane as this is, the Corp member who earns 100k today, would do less with his 100k compared to a Corp member who earned 19,800 some years ago.
For example, in 2012, petrol sold for 65/litre. Today it's about 600/litre.
19,800/65 = 304.6 litres
100,000/600 = 166.7 litres
This tells you how much of your purchasing power has been wiped away under these people, affecting your overall quality of life.
But of course, somebody sang "Nigeria Jaga Jaga", so there's no way we were better off then...
By the way,
Just so we are clear;
NYSC Corpers should be paid at least 100,000 naira per month.
Many of these people need the money to take care of families, start small businesses, take professional exams and kickstart their lives.
It’s an insane scandal that they earn less.
