Gold is bouncing mainly because the dollar has pulled back from extreme strength, but elevated yields mean this is still a rebound—not confirmed bullish driver rotation.
Gold is currently being driven more by USD/rate pressure than by the geopolitical oil shock; the real test comes with the FOMC minutes.
A dovish FOMC minutes reaction causing USD and Treasury yields to fall together would invalidate the current bearish gold thesis. #forex
Gold is falling because the Hormuz/oil shock is being transmitted into inflation and Fed-hike expectations, pushing yields and the dollar higher—not simply because of geopolitical risk.
Gold trap yesterday 👀
Gold initially looked bullish as the dollar weakened and geopolitical tensions rose — classic safe-haven signal.
But the real move was different:
Oil ↑ → inflation fears ↑ → Fed hike bets ↑ → yields ↑ → USD ↑ → Gold ↓
Brent just broke $100 (first time since July) on fresh Iran-Hormuz strikes — but gold isn't rallying. Market's reading it as "inflation stays hot → Fed hikes" not "flight to safety." Hawkish-Fed regime still dominant. Gold capped, not flying. Confidence: Medium (data gaps). Sep9
Every strategy is powerful when it follows the trend. The best entries come from trading with the market, not fighting against it.
No matter how good your strategy is, if you're trading against the trend, it's almost useless. The trend is your greatest advantage—trade with it, not against it. @FOREXcom

Most traders have NO idea what goes on behind the chart
92% of trades just watch basic price charts
But the move usually starts somewhere else:
Interest rate expectations!
That’s why GOLD moves before the FED moves
That’s why the Dollar reacts to the economic data
That’s why equities can turn while everyone is still arguing about price action
So I built something for TradingView
Global Rates Expectations
It shows what the market is pricing for the major central banks:
1. Rate cuts
2. Rate hikes.
3. Neutral policy
All in one clean dashboard
Why does this matter?
Because interest rate expectations move everything!
If you trade FX, GOLD, indices or bonds, this gives you a cleaner view of the macro pressure behind the chart

War usually boosts gold as a safe haven, but yesterday the dollar + inflation side effects won out. This bearish pattern looks like a real signal (not just noise) — watch dollar & oil closely for what's next! 💰⚠️
Why the reversal?
Oil spiked → inflation fears rose → Fed less likely to cut rates soon (bad for gold, which pays 0% interest)
US dollar strengthened (hit ~99, 1-month high) → makes gold pricier for non-USD buyers → demand drops
Profit-taking after a massive recent rally
