The Dollar fell after a hot CPI and everyone’s calling the top
Ehhh I wouldn’t be so sure about it...
The FED can ignore OIL spikes… until it suddenly can't
Central banks don't set rates on energy prices
If they did, they'd flip flop between hikes and cuts every time OIL moved
But when high OIL prices STAY high:
→ they leak into the broader economy
→ people start expecting higher inflation
→ inflation gets entrenched
That's what the FED fears most
And that's when it stops looking through

You can turn your trading around in 6 months
Stop trying to build discipline, and ruthlessly reengineer your structural tension instead!
Most 6 month transformation plans fail within three weeks because they rely on oscillation, trying to willpower your way out of your current behaviors while keeping the exact same environment, friction points, and identity intact
You get a burst of motivation, push hard for 10 days, and then the hidden gravity of your existing setup pulls you right back to baseline
If you want to actually turn things around in 180 days, you have to stop treating your trading like a discipline problem and start treating it like a constraints and architecture problem
Because most traders think they make one decision per trade. Take it or don't take it. But if you actually count, it's more like six or seven:
1. Is this a trade at all
2. Which direction
3. How much do I risk
4. Where does the stop go
5. Do I move it when price comes close
6. Do I close early because I'm nervous
All of these are a door to emotional trading and mistakes
The fewer decisions you have to take, the better your trading gets
Which means this:
1. Have a bias, a fundamental bias that the chart can't overwrite
Why?
Because markets are volatile, things pull back, and you can't let your decisions be dictated by the volatility, you MUST have a view of where the trend is most likely going to move into, so you can't let a pullback switch your trades
2. Know exactly what % you risk on each trade
Simple, 0.5%, 2%, 5%, whatever it is, just don't make it up at random based on your "feelings"
These 2 points will fix most of your emotional decisions in trading
1. Only take trades in the macro direction
2. Know exactly what % risk you want to take on each trade
There’s one rule every trader hears at some point
Don’t fight the FED
And today, the CPI just showed us which way the FED is going to lean

Inflation is transitioning from energy into the broader economy
Not to mention that OIL prices are still above 90
The longer it stays high, the more higher prices get embedded into the economy
EXACTLY what the FED fears
Nowhere to hide in this context except in USD
GOLD?
Bearish because of higher rates
Stocks?
Heavy because of higher rates
Bonds?
Heavy because of higher rates
The only place to be is USD because the FED has to tighten financial conditions
This is the most boring, and yet the most consistently profitable strategy you can learn to swing trade currencies
Buy the currency backed by the most hawkish central bank, and short the most dovish one
“What’s your view on EURUSD?”
“What about GBPJPY?”
“And GOLD?”
I get these every day
And most of the time my answer is...
Mixed!
You can’t have a real fundamental view on everything
A few currencies at a time, that’s it
Don't force a view just because you want to trade a specific asset
Still the same, NO reason to buy GOLD until the underlying issue is resolved
I'm NOT buying GOLD yet
Cheap is not a catalyst
And the thing pushing GOLD lower hasn't been resolved yet
