DearKenneth Omeruo, you represented Nigeria at the 2011 U-20 World Cup alongside defenders who went on to become global stars. Danilo, Alex Sandro and others built careers at the highest level. You had your own opportunities, but today, your political judgment deserves serious scrutiny about why your career literally failed after signing for Chelsea
Youโre publicly supporting Tinubu while your family lives outside Nigeria. Youโre entitled to your political choices, but donโt expect Nigerians to ignore the contradiction between defending a government and keeping your own family away from the conditions ordinary Nigerians face every day.
And perhaps this is where your career trajectory offers an uncomfortable parallel: talent alone doesnโt guarantee greatness; judgment matters too. While other defenders from that generation reached the biggest stages in football, you never quite reached that superstar status. I wonโt pretend your political views caused that difference, but the same poor judgment youโre displaying politically makes it easier to understand why people question your decisions.
You once wore Nigeriaโs colours with pride. Now show Nigerians that your support for the country goes beyond endorsing its president. Stop lecturing Nigerians through political endorsements and lead by example. If you genuinely believe Tinubu is building a Nigeria worth defending, have the courage to let your own family experience that reality.
Nigerians deserve more than celebrity endorsements from people whose families live elsewhere.

Bangladesh Demands Answers Over Saudi Executions
Bangladesh is demanding answers from Saudi Arabia over the execution of two of its nationals in Mecca on October 14, saying it received no prior notification from Saudi authorities.
Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and Siti Akhtar, both cleaners, were convicted of what Saudi authorities described as โindecent actsโ inside a mosque. The alleged offence has not been publicly detailed. Dhaka is seeking information about their trial and the whereabouts of their bodies.

ENDSARS LEKKI TOLL GATE: NEVER FORGET OCTOBER 20, 2020
Today, October 20, 2026, marks the sixth anniversary of the Lekki Toll Gate shootings, a painful reminder of the price Nigerian youths paid in their demand for a better country.
On that fateful night, peaceful #EndSARS protesters were met with gunfire. Lives were lost, many were injured, and the nation was left with questions about justice, accountability, and the sanctity of human life.
We must never forget. We must never normalise injustice.
As we remember the victims, I reaffirm my belief that a New Nigeria is possibleโa country where citizens are protected, not brutalised; where young people are heard, not silenced; and where government power is exercised with responsibility and respect for human rights.
Nigeria must become a nation where no citizen is punished for demanding good governance and a better future.
May the souls of the departed continue to rest in peace. May their sacrifice strengthen our resolve to build a Nigeria where this tragedy will never be repeated.
