Rwanda Forensic Institute (RFI) received a delegation of Justices from some African countries, including Nigeria, who are in Rwanda for a workshop on digital evidence in the judiciary. They were welcomed by the Director General of RFI, Dr. Charles Karangwa, who shared the journey and growth of forensic science in Rwanda. The delegation also visited RFI forensic laboratories and learned how forensic science is used in real investigations to support justice.

Dr. Karangwa highlighted that RFI’s uniqueness lies in its integrated structure, housing more than 10 laboratories under one institution, unlike in many countries where forensic labs are scattered across different security agencies and often inaccessible or expensive for civilians.
